our fans just want a winner, period.

Okay........

How many wins do want Iowa St to have next year?

If Prohm is the head coach, the maximum amount that still gets him fired.

And there it is.

Sort of breathtaking isn't it? I know you said about Prohm "before it fell apart".....fair enough. But when I have posted this during this season:

iowa-state-big-12-finals.png

.....I get nothing but "three days don't make a season".."tourney doesn't count, only conference".."it was nice, but what happened next week?".."it was good way to end a very underachieving year".."good thing because February sucked!".."would have been a better season had 17-18 not been so bad"..need I go on? It's like I am on the rivals board arguing with Hawks.

So your statement "before it fell apart" when exactly when did this begin? Because if, like you said "our fans just want a winner, period" wouldn't that clock have started after..THIS YEAR..due to above photo and the 23 wins that preceded it? Or do many who state "we only want a winner, period" break out the above talking points about that photo/23 wins that prove otherwise, thus making my post with the Hoiberg/LE..Prohm/Morgan analogy and Statefan10 post spot on.

SORRY EVERYONE.......LAST OF THIS IN THIS OR ANY OTHER RECRUITING THREAD? COULDN'T HELP MYSELF.

Ask the staff. Maybe they can set you up with a safe space to discuss without facing the reality that every day that Prohm is in charge, this program takes another step back

imagine the caliber of person it takes to write this something this ignorant.

Intellectually lazy misnomer. Try harder. We're Cyclone fans posting on a Cyclone website called "Cyclone Fanatic".

We support the program. Steve Prohm is not our program. He is an employee that's in over his head and single-handedly setting the program back to lows that will take a long time to come back from. Intelligent people see the writing on the wall and want this fool gone. If he were somehow able to turn things around next year and rid himself of his many warts, people would support Prohm for the complete 180 in coaching because it will have meant that he figured out how to be a competent D-1 coach.

and here comes this guy to try to show how dumb he is.

and no you would not ever support Steve Prohm, you can be as dumb as you want to be, but quit lying.

There is the possibility we have neither.

Do we really think that colleges are going to be able to afford to do that? Bills have to be paid at some point and the tolerance for the general public of this in March is going to be way different in September. I hope the government has a plan.

How bout you tell me why he would come here with this list:

Alabama, Arizona State, Gonzaga, Iona, Iowa State, Marquette, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, San Diego State, Seton Hall, Texas and Wichita State.

We have very little talent on the roster, we have the worst coach on this list, and he can have immediate playing time with most of these schools.

ASU/SDSU/Marquette/Gonzaga/SH/OR all tournament schools, while OK/Texas/WSU all offer immediate playing time as well, with better coaches. If the list cuts down to Iona, Ole Miss and us, I like our chances.

Try this theory...

I must've missed how good of a player Talley was lol. Lard couldn't handle being in college and was constantly getting in trouble in different ways off the court. Wigginton was on the bench because our offense was rolling at the time with Halliburton starting. Have you ever heard of the phrase "peaking too early"? Yeah that's exactly what happened last year with our team. We peaked WAY too early. Last year was a solid year overall in which we underperformed in the NCAA tournament. That's it. If you think we should've won the conference outright or competed at the end for the outright title, then you believed last year's team was better or as good as all of Fred's teams were. I didn't.

I agree that this year is unacceptable and being good one year and bad the next is unacceptable, but you're talking about a span of 3 years in which you would like a coach to be fired. And I think that's quite extreme.

It’s like this. They needed to make an issue of Lindell not starting.

say he had gotten his starting spot back. This year they would be on to how did a lottery pick not start last year.

It’s a recruiting thread. Might just be easier to get back to the topic at hand. Applies to everyone; including me.

Soooo what's your point here? Steve should already have signed guys? A day / two days after our guys have left? Before any of these players have had opportunities to evaluate where they would like to go?

Are you mad Steve is going after good players? Should he be going after bad ones that no one else wants?

Oh I know what he should do! He should bring in a solid recruiting class, like you know the one he's literally bringing in next year.

How about develop and manage a roster so you arent relying on grad transfers to avoid your 2nd straight 20 loss season?

I agree. There is playing time to offer. There is a solid group coming in.

he has to figure out how to generate optimism by this time next year, or he won’t be the coach at Iowa State.

I absolutely love people who say "you obviously don't know much about basketball." They usually have the most smart basketball brain

the smartest. Right up there with rooting against a team you purport to root for

I mean I root for my pro teams to lose if they aren’t going to get out of the first round anyway. But that’s to get a better draft pick.
