Really? You see this team in the championship game challenging OU? Plenty of talk about that pre-season. What are you seeing that others are not? Would love to be wrong, however making a bowl game seems a realistic goal at this point.
It’s possible. The talk was of ISU being a dark horse candidate, generally behind OU and UT. That’s still in play.

I get it, we’ll play many teams more challenging than Iowa. But there’s time to clean things up. This looked like a team just in Game 2, coming off an off week.

8-4 seems more realistic than making the championship game. I wasnt buying into all this hype all summer without a legit running game. The backfield has fallen off a cliff from Montgomery to this committee and their skill position players arent anywhere near the talent of Texas and Oklahoma outside of Purdy.

Their defense is legit and Big 12 championship caliber but Purdy cant carry this offense by himself like he did tonight.

With Montgomery back I think they are 7-2, Montgomery and Butler 8-1, 6-3 as i see it right now. The Big 12 is going to be tough again this year. West Virginia and K-State were suppose to be terrible this year and they just had impressive wins over Power 5 teams today.

Jfc we were 1-3 last year with 2 big 12 losses with #6 coming to town. Settle the **** down. Sloppy field helped Iowa with their style of play. We didn’t execute very well in the red zone. Iowa has a good team and it was a dog fight. We left a lot in the field.

Brock looked good and we won’t see that type of Dline for a while. I thought the Oline was very good today, much better than expected.

Left to drive home after the phantom holding call, knowing it was likely over. Coming home to pop on the DVR and see 2 idiots collide with each other on the punt was the icing on the cake. Hilarious. This team could not have made anymore f*ckups in the last 8 minutes of a game

Your DVR doesn’t go four hours over.

Agreed. We might get one of Texas or OU but we were never getting both and personally I don't think we take either. Obviously we lost today. I think we get picked off somewhere on the road too, maybe at Baylor. 8-4 is nothing to be disappointed over. Wasn't that long ago I'd die for that and my opinion on it hasn't changed much.

Did we just lose a Big 12 game?

No, but this team very clearly does not have the capacity to play the type of consistent football you need. Plus it's a hell of lot harder than people think to get to that game, given the other teams in the Big XII.

Season's young and this team is younger in its experience than it seems since there's guys like Rose that are still early in the process.

The trends carrying over from last year to this year is what I hope they can snap out of.

Good lord, clonedude has a twin

How do you figure? I thought we won 2 out of the 3 phases, and looked like the better team out there by a good margin. Clean up the self inflicted mistakes and we're in for a really good year.

Again, the good news for you is that Watching is a voluntary activity

Interesting because we had 2 Big 12 losses in our 1st 5 games last year and were 2-3 with a high powered #6 WV team rolling into Ames with a true freshman qb.

The o line took a good step. The d played the way they play.

Just stupid bad luck.

If that PI call isn't offset by a strange holding call, we're 1st and 10 at the Iowa 24 with 2 minutes left. We likely win with either a TD or a FG if that holding call doesn't happen.

They looked for that call. It wasn’t like someone tackled a rusher.

When you saw Iowa’s o line, and the fact that they didn’t have a single hold called. It was intentional
