Predictable, but IMO fairly well justified.

Bountygate does not mean that they should have been royally screwed by inept, incompetent officiating. I think that game last night would have been much better if the Saints had been in there instead of the Rams.

It would have been the same result

I still don't understand the uproar about bounty gate. That stuff has been going on forever. Hell in High School we'd each put in $10 and the person to injure an opposing player got the cash.

So they shouldn't have gotten punished for it because it had been going on forever?

Sorry, but "that stuff's been going on forever" or "everyone does it" isn't a valid excuse for doing something wrong. It was against the rules and they got busted.

I understand that. My post wasn't about them getting in trouble with the NFL, it was about fans being mad about it. It's football people get incentives and awards for big hits that cause injury.

It’s ridiculous that it goes on. I played football for 6 years and never once did we have a bounty out for anyone. Not once.

And that isn't completely screwed up?

Not in my opinion. Football is about hitting. I got the big hit award against Mizzou my Jr. for knocking someone out on a kickoff return (unfortunately I also gave my self a concussion). Imo (and I know many disagree) but it's part of football (as long as you aren't taking cheap shots).

Uhh earth to Curt. They were taking cheap shots. Specifically targeting his ankles and knees.

That whole NFC championship game was full of cheap shots against Favre
