And that is why we will continue to lose games like we have in the past.
The reason why we lost games under hoiberg was because he was truly a shoot first think later coach. When the shots weren't falling they had no ability to fall back on their defense for consistent stops. The difference with Prohms' coaching style is he preaches defense and, now that he has his guys in the program, you are seeing how much of a benefit that can be.

Nick and Marial did not have their best games yesterday, but they both had some huge steals and deflections to change the momentum towards Iowa State. I disagree with your statement in that, now more than ever I feel confident we can win a game when we aren't shooting that great. Where as in the past if 1 of our top scorers was not contributing somebody else had to step up their scoring, or the game could slip away.

I played basketball so my knowledge is the best knowledge...

Shooters should shoot, unless they shouldn't shoot, then they shouldn't shoot.
Sometimes they should drive, sometimes they should pass.

It doesn't matter cause we're watching the game sitting on our ass.

Let the players play and the coaches coach.
Maybe try to refrain from typing every thought that comes to your mind during a game because, hey, the game of basketball still ebs and flows. Looking back at some of the posts on this thread during that last 4 minutes in the 1st half shows you all you need to to see how dumb it can make you look.

Our team is good, and will get better. Players will have bad games, role players will play out of their minds. It's ******* basketball.

Chill out and lets get more than 1 game into the conference season before we start labeling players as selfish or calling for someones starting spot, etc. etc. **** happens every year.

I enjoy the banter to an extent, cause you can actually talk through basketball with people, and get peoples thought, but some things are so tiresome and overplayed it makes me not want to engage with the threads at all.

One game is one game. And the good thing for us, although some may not be able to tell because of this thread, is we won the game.

A post Dr. Seuss would be proud of. Kudos to you, sir.

Nope, I watch every minute of every conference game, I missed maybe 30 seconds last night because my dog was getting antsy and needed to go outside.

Dog was probably getting antsy being forced to watch all the selfish play. I know I would have been wanting to head outside by that point.

Dog was probably getting antsy because of the meltdown going on about ISU having a lead for a vast majority of the game in a road win.

I could see going with a big 4 against KU to counter their size, though I suppose we might try to run them off the floor with small ball too. Just depends what is working (or isn't).

Does Conditt see the floor Saturday?

Might be a good fit for this game--length and speed.

I'll call CSP and let him know my idea.

I'll say this. Go back and look at the box scores of our Kansas games from last year, then come back and tell me who you want seein the floor the most :)

Getting some solid defensive minutes from Solo this game will be huge.

Yeah, the frontcourt depth is really going to be tested in this one. I wish Solo and Cam had a little more time to re-integrate before a game this big, but it is what it is. Overall I feel pretty good about 1-3. If they have to turn to Conditt, it'll be interesting to see how he responds. At least it'll be in Hilton.

I haven't read all 52 pages, but my main point of interest last night was when Cam blocked the shot and then dove out of bounds to save the ball to a teammate, I think we can quit talking about his body language or effort now. That was as much hustle as you can ask of a player. Good to see!

I think he's trending in the right direction. Even if he doesn't get as many post touches this season there are other ways for him to make an impact. Be active and good things will happen.

I hope you are right, I have only seen the Hawaii games, the Iowa and Drake games and last night. But I still can not see what are trying to do on the defensive side of the court. I still see second and third rebounds going to the offensive player, ducking under screens at the top of the key, instead of fighting through the screen or over the top. Way to many drives to the basket when we are on defense.
Sure we are better than the Hoiberg teams, but are no where near the Eustachy teams on defense. Saturday will tell us a lot about this team, we know what KU will try to do, they will play in our shorts defense, hustle on every rebound and hitting threes. I hope we can come out shooting and win the game.

We did one of the best jobs I’ve ever seen of going over on the high ball screens, especially Lindell. Without looking at the stats I would say offensive rebounding was even for both teams and neither team got that many. Definitely less than 10 for each team.

What was the story on the double technical (didn't see Wiggy do anything) and why didn't anybody shoot free throws?

Guessing they were yapping at each other and kept doing it after the ref told them to stop.

The bad body language was a figment of CF's imagination.
