Those aren't Big Monday games. The NY day game is on ESPN2, and the other is on the U.
This is a pretty bad deal.
Agreed. Especially since we are only 2 years removed (Georges' Junior year I believe) from having 4 Big Monday games in one season. Brent Musberger and Fran were regulars to Ames that year. I think Jay Bilas even did 2 games that year as well.

It sucks the first two conference games are both at home... when the students are still on break.

Yeah.. if this is going to be routine now, we need to do more to have students there. I know the AD likes selling off those tickets separately (which i've always thought is a ****** deal) but we need as much of a student section as possible for conference games, and most students are back in town. At very least tickets should be included for the saturday prior to class resuming in january.

Only 3 Saturday home games ticks me off. So much nicer bringing the kids to a game on Saturday compared to a cold weeknight during the school year. We've only lost one Big 12 Sat home game since Hoiberg's second year compared to 7 weeknight games.

TCU gets 6 home Saturday games.

Going at least 4-1 in this stretch would help, considering it follows playing WVa at home and at Baylor:
Feb. 7 at Texas Tech
Feb. 10 Oklahoma
Feb. 13 Kansas
Feb. 17 at Kansas State
Feb. 21 TCU

ISU and OSU are playing. It's pretty clear from this schedule that ESPN expects us to be a bottom-feeder, and probably OSU, too.

I'm more curious to see what other games or what other sports are happening at 2PM & 4 PM that day that put the ISU & OSU games in ****** time slots. The rest of the Big 12 is playing in the morning or early-afternoon, so it's not like Kansas is taking up one of those spots on ESPN.

Saturday, January 13
K-State at Kansas (ESPN/2), 11 a.m.
TCU at Oklahoma (ESPNU), 12 p.m.
West Virginia at Texas Tech (ESPN/2), 1 p.m.
Baylor at Iowa State (ESPNews), 2 p.m.
Texas at Oklahoma State (ESPNews), 4 p.m.

I would think a 2PM match-up between ISU & Baylor would be decent enough to make it on ESPNU

OK State plays on ESPNews 3 times this season. That's gotta be rough for those fans.

It'll be a great game and a Cyclone win.
I think, in ESPN's eyes, the glamour left with Fred, and our TV appearances have been going backwards since he left. Gradually, because we still had a noticeably good team, but now they seem to think "Oh, they are Iowa State. Who wants to watch that?"

Never mind the actual talent and exciting style of play. That doesn't seem to affect their decision.

It's kind of a lose lose deal for JP. Don't sell the tickets and have a bunch of empty seats or sell the tickets and have a full house. Either way, Hilton isn't the same compared to when school is in session.
