Busch is definitely an Iowa thing. None of my out of state friends ever drink busch, which is a shame.

My cousin is a linguistics professor (not raised in Iowa) and she goes bananas over people saying "you bet" or "you betcha" here. It's some sort of unsolvable puzzle why people would say that or something...

My wife's college roommate married a guy from Arizona that never left the southwest or been involved in a snowstorm. When we had our 1st child, they flew up to see us. When we picked them up at the airport it was about 15 degrees and just starting to flurry. He white knuckled it all the way home. That night it snowed 8 inches. The next morning we were having coffee and looking out the window. My wife and I (much like any Iowan) looked at each other and shrugged "it coulda been worse." He thought that was the most ridiculous thing he's ever heard.
