Not sure if it's an Iowa thing, but sometimes instead of saying "I really like that!" or "That's delicious!" I'll say "That does not suck!". They mean the same thing, but people in TX look at me funny when I say it.

Outside of Iowa, saying the phrase "Can I help you?" to someone stranded alongside the road apparently means "Can I abduct you?"

Had a former employee say it was obvious that I was from "back east". Nit because of an accent, but what I said.

KYBO was a major Iowa portable toilet company about 20 years ago. Maybe you have to be "older" to know that one!
