Last year the grays were a surprise to the team when they walked into the locker room before the game. No way they would let out any of this year's surprises out on social media in June.

If these are the new uniforms (which I highly doubt they are) my question is why? We already have a grey uniform, why do we need a second one? Also, would this mean stencil logo on the helmet if there is a stencil number?
They aren't the new uniforms. Idk where people are getting this idea.
That's what I thought. I think it is just the lighting that makes it look lighter
The big reveal will probably be one or more of the following:
A matte gun metal grey helmet with chrome silver/red highlights
A yellow helmet alternate
Black uniforms with red/silver highlights
Stencil block I-State logo
The return of the tornado logo on the helmet
None of which will be a permanent look. Well, to be honest Iowa State doesn't have a permanent look anyways; especially under this regime.

Same uni as last year. Number has a filter over it. Check the sleeve number...still red with yellow border.
The black jerseys aren't going to be permanent. I thought that was obvious, but I keep seeing reassurances that they will only be an alternate. Duh.

If the team is truly going to a black uniform for some games they might as well get an advantage out of it.

Even my 60 some year old dad who is a total fuddy duddy when it comes to new things liked the greys. He liked them more than I did.
