The free-falling Giants got swept at a mediocre Cinci team, being outscored 31-5. Literally nothing is working this season. Not. A. Damned. Thing.

Well at least you got 8 world series trophies to keep you company. :) This year it looks like both the wild cards could come from the NL West.

I pick Gio Gonzalez as my pitcher tonight because his ERA was under 2. Has given up 4 with 3 HR already in the first....every damn time, the pitcher I pick always implodes....

Yanks had the perfect game following that 18 inning marathon last night and having a bunch of relievers unavailable. Tanaka went 7 innings and they only had to use one pitcher that pitched last night, Clippard, and he got his inning with only 12 pitches and they rested Judge and Castro. Things are definitely going their way right now.

Yanks have the second best record in baseball and that's only good for second place in the east.

Go Nationals, down a run with bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th.

Update: Woot woot Orioles lose so it's a tie for first.

That Yanks beatdown last weekend was something special. Game 1 resilience. Game 2 a beatdown! Game 3 18 inning resilience. This team could be real good, I'm excited to see this team progress!

Scary stat I just noticed:

Through the first 33 games, the Nationals scored 202 runs. Through the same 33 games the Royals scored 97.

That's a 105 run difference in 33 games.

A nats loss would have given Rockies the best record in the NL.:(

Big 4 game series with the Dodgers begins tonight. Would love to split but getting 3 of 4 would be huge.

Going to be glad to get over this Yank run of series with tough teams, Cubs, Reds and tonight Astros and Keuchel. 3-2 loss with final out at the plate in the bottom of the 9th. Good game. Looking forward to the next fours series, Royals, Rays, Royals, Athletics....on paper should be easier.

So apparently you can force a guy off the bag to get them out. In the Rockies game the catcher threw to first, the guy for Colorado was safe through the play the 1st baseman forced his leg off with his and runner was out.

Karma at least as next guy singles and next guy homers.

Royals swept Baltimore. May be a tougher series than it looked like a week or two ago. KC started so bad...Don't know if they've righted the ship or just caught Orioles at the right time.

Might be easy for the Royals Tuesday since CC Sabathia will be pitching batting practice for them in the first inning. Earlier he looked like he might have figured out how to pitch with no fastball but now looks totally washed up again.
