With Hammel on the market now and the Qualifying offer to Dex, what are things we want to see happen this offseason.

Also, Peace out Grandpa Rossy! WE LOVE YOU!

I wouldn't be too shocked to see Dex accept the QO, but he can obviously get more money in FA, and I expect him to go that route. Cubs really need to focus on pitching this off-season. Need some bullpen help for next season, and need to stockpile some starting depth not for next season, but for 2018-2020 range.

Cubs are so good they moved to the NFL?

Bold strategy.

Hope Bryant can be a successful QB. We got a real big hitter with Schwarber at LB.

I think Baez can really lead this team at the RB position

Is there a sense of how much more Dex could get going elsewhere? I would think it would be tough to adjust from something like what he's participated in this season to go play on a large deal for the Mets or something. I'd imagine there is a large part of you that wants to stick it out here, but it is millions of dollars we are talking about.

I think Fowler is more likely looking for a $15 million ~ 4-5 years. A $17.2 million, 1 year deal may not give him that security he is looking for.

That being said, defense and constant injuries were the biggest reasons he couldn't get a decent contract last offseason. Defense obviously was great this year, but he did hit the DL again.

My offseason plans if I'm Theo:

- Offer Fowler QO.

If Fowler signs:

Head to Cabo, come back in February when pitchers and catchers report.

If Fowler does not sign

- Get Schwarber, Bryant, and Rizzo in a room. Explain to them the concept of being best friends. Show them 30 for 30 "This Magic Moment." Call up Shaq, have him explain how leaving Orlando was his greatest regret as a professional athlete. Sign them to team friendly deals through 2060, assuming they'll still have it in their 60's.

Is it just me, or is anyone else still singing Go Cubs Go in their heads. It was kind of tailing off and then I watched the video of the guys singing it on Saturday Night Live and it's back up to full volume in my skull.
