Does anyone know the backstory with Melvin and the Bassetts? I know they refer to each other as brothers, but I've never heard how the relationship came about.

I don't know the full backstory, but do know that the Bassett's officially adopted him a couple years ago.

I'd add Nico DeSalvo to the list of Iowa high school studs for 2027 as well

Commits to Minnesota. They were the first ones to call him it sounds like.

I'm guessing DeSalvo ends up at Minnesota or Iowa State. He's close with the Schwab boys from his time with Immortal, but I think he will go to a bigger school

They will have some good lightweight depth with desalvo, trey beissel, and friederichs twins.

Do we have any coaches or RTC guys involved with the Iowa/USA Wrestling scene? Saw this posted on FB and noticed Schwab & Morningstar, along with Sebolt & two guys (in red) i can’t place, all who I assume were coaching last week at Junior FS/Greco National Duals. That’s a lot of time for these kids to build connections with college programs and just hope we’re not missing out by not being involved in these opportunities as much as Iowa & UNI are.

I don't think so. On the left is WDV coach Wheelan he was at Waverly for years. The one on the right I can't think of it's on the tip of my tongue though and when it comes to me I will edit this . In the red on the right is Goodale

I’m not sure that there is the talent in Iowa needed to do this. Great for Schwab though. Pretty sure we’ve had ISU guys at the Fargo camp and Fargo in the past with team Iowa.
