Manipulating a choice of major is not even remotely the same as manipulating grades.

It means either steering SAs into a 'cluster' where several are in the same major, or selecting a major that has class schedules that will fit around an established practice/travel schedule.

If Nikki really did want to be a vet, I'm sure that she could have. But I'm also sure that the student advisors were open and honest that that field of study would be very hard for a student athlete (it's hard for any student).

So far, I've seen pro-Bill comments on Twitter from Medders, Poppens, Lacey, Bolte, Stuckey and Blaskowsky -- all of whom busted their butts for 4 years (3 for Stuckey, b/c she was a transfer) without copping an attitude.

Excatly. I met a young female a few years ago with mild Asperger's syndrome (autism), and she was a freshman at a local juco.

She started in IT/Web programming, but one of the professors steered her toward an Administrative Asst. AA degree

Did her parents sue the school? NO...they thanked them

I haven't posted anything about this story all day because I wanted to give it some to think about before I just reacted.

I have no idea what happened between Bill and Nikki so I don't think it's fair for me to comment one way or the other. This is a very serious allegation though, and Nikki better have her ducks in a row on this because this can be a tough thing to prove.

The thing that keeps sticking in my mind is how Nikki started a ton of games for Bill throughout her 4 year career at ISU, so it wasn't like he didn't play her because of his dislike for her. And as Seanna Johnson's mom has said, if she was treated so horribly, why wait until almost a year after you leave the school to do anything about it? That doesn't mean it didn't happen, but sure raises some questions IMO.

With all that being said, I think the only way that Bill survives this and keeps his job is if a large majority of girls that have played for him, both black and white, come forward and show their support for him. Anything short of that, and I think he's gone unfortunately.

Even if he's found to be innocent of these charges, if a large percentage of past players don't come out in support of him, then the damage will already have been done and it will completely handcuff his ability to recruit IMO. I wonder if, in that case, he could go back and file a lawsuit on her? If he's found completely innocent, but it ruins his career anyway, I would think he could go after her, right? Again... this is only assuming he's found innocent, which I have no idea if that's the case or not?

I feel sorry for the other african-American girls in the program. If they come out in support of Coach Fennelly, they'll be branded 'sell-outs'

I don't know. I think that's assuming something that we shouldn't.

I'd be interested to hear Brynn Williamson's take on this. That lawsuit makes it sound like she was painted in the same light as Moody. From what I remember there was absolutely no issues between her and Bill

And Kidd and Stuckey are not white. That says something.

Did/does she date Naz Mitrou-Long or someone from the current MBB team? I might be mistaken.

I think some of you people honestly have stockholm syndrome or something... Just because you were treated like dog-**** by coaches and came out of it alright does not mean that it is an okay thing for coaches to treat players like dog-****. It is just baffling, why would it ever be okay to treat someone like garbage?

There's a big difference between 'treating players like garbage' and an intense coach that has high expectations. Some people cant handle that intensity, even if its far from 'treating players like garbage'

I don't think it reads aggressively. I think it reads in a way that nothing stated can be misconstrued and or disputed.
