Daltrey is my #1, and Cornell and Buckley are high up there. He's a turd, but Axl Rose is incredibly distinctive. Gotta give some love to Mick Jagger, since I was named after a Stones song. Clapton's voice is very diverse. Janis Joplin and Grace Slick could wail. I personally love Bob Dylan and David Bowie, but they're not hard rockers.

Agree 100% with Rose. I love the Stones, and think Jagger is a great frontman, but sheer singing i don't know how I put him. Joplin could howl for sure. I can't believe I left the Band's trio of Richard Manuel/Rick Danko/Levon Helm

Paul Rodgers of Bad Company is one of the best rock vocalists. For jazz it has to be Al Jarreau. For female singers Eva Cassidy has a truly amazing voice that will send chills up your spine.

Alicia Keyes, is that up for debate? She's one of the best vocalists of the past 20 years, I don't think anyone can debate with that.

Another good call. Her voice is gorgeous. Same with Billie Holiday earlier. Also love Jenny Lewis' voice from Rilo Kiley.

Also Caleb Followill from Kings of Leon has an incredibly distinctive voice. Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys also has an amazing voice.

She used to be with Ryan Adam's first band Whiskeytown and now does solo stuff. She is amazing.

Also Gary Louris and basically everyone ever associated with the Jayhawks.
