JP has a point to an extent but telling our own fans to "get off the bus" for whatever reason is a terrible look. Fans have endured a lot of ****** football and he should be grateful we still have a bus to ride so to speak.

Again, the guy did not tweet at JP.

What people do not understand is that when you get into a conversation on Twitter, and you use the @someones user name, they will be included on every reply in the conversation. This guy did not tweet at Jamie, the person he was in a conversation with included Jamie in the conversation (as well as Prohm), and because that person did that, Jamie and Prohm were brought into the conversation.

I don't know what else to say other than you are just wrong about this. I certainly understand Twitter. He did tweet at JP. That's what happens when your tweet has "@IASTATEAD" in it. Who cares who first added that name in the tweet? Maybe he didn't mean to tweet at JP, we don't know... But he did.

It isn't much different than if I email you, you respond by CC'ing CW, and I click reply all and say "Yeah Chuck, CW should be fired." Did I email CW or not?

No, you're sending the e-mail to me, and copying in CW. the thing with Twitter is you dont have an option to just reply to one or reply to all, it automatically replies to all.

If the guy meant to tweet at JP, he would of done it with his first tweet on the reaction to the hire. The same reason JP was included in his second response is the same reason Steve Prohm was included in on it; because the person he was interacting with included those two.

Yes the guy probably should of removed JP and Prohm, but his intention was not to talk to them directly, and that much is obvious.

Thank and praise anyone who wants to support ISU! We want and need any "bandwagon" fans we can get (obviously not the case here anyway). Just a ridiculous thing for JP to do. His ego is out of control!

Right, I'd love to have front running fans since that means we're winning.

The bolded is just incorrect. And someone else already posted that earlier.

No its not. You don't have an option to just "reply" or "reply to all". When you push "reply" it automatically includes all the names who have been included in the conversation to date. Yes, you can remove names manually, but there is no option like you have with e-mail.

Jamie is on Murph & Andy right now. Some of what he says is interesting:

"If you want to say I should be fired and that Matt's a bad hire, you're entitled to do that... [But] when you direct it right at me, I don't know why you'd be surprised when I respond."

"[We] certainly got the Hawkeye fans not talking about their 12-0 team but talking about Iowa State. We're dominating the media the last two days."

"When you tweet at me and say I should be fired, you've stepped into it."

"We want fans that don't want to be front runners. We want fans, like we've had 56,000 [at JTS], that certainly weren't front running when we won 8 games in the last 3 years."

Also comparing his use of social media to Andy Fales trolling NDSU fans, and mentions that social media moves quickly and he moved on after about 30 seconds; I think he is surprised that this tweet of his got so much attention.

Sounds a little like Trump.

I'm thinking the d in chuck d is for dan, as in killer_clone. :jimlad:

Stupid response by JP, but for these stupid moments I'll take it because I believe he has done more for ISU in his 10+ years than I'll ever do in my lifetime for Cyclone athletics. If you want to get rid of JP then I hope that JP pi$$es you off enough to move on.

Life's too short to worry about this whiny crap from either side.

well, time for lakesbison to tweet jaime pollard.

Hey BisoNation who's worse @AndyFales whining about NDSU or @IASTATEAD calling out his own fans? both must be worried about NDSU beating ISU again..

Let me be clear, I in NO WAY want JP gone. I've said this many times, and usually laugh at the people who want him gone. JP is by far the best thing to happen to ISU since I have been a fan. However, the football hire is very important, and if Campbell does not work out, I do think JP could be done at ISU.

Semantics

I don't get the argument anyway, here's what happened: The guy did send a tweet saying JP should be fired if the hire doesn't work out and that tweet did include "@IASTATEAD". That is really all I care about as a mitigating factor here. I'm not even defending JP for his response.

I don't mind Jamie's comment, but I do mind that it is taking media time/attention away from pumping up our new hire.

Either way, this will be forgotten by the end of the week and will not matter.

I was going to Like your post until I read the last line. Is there a better football coach option for ISU right now? I think it's pretty unanimous that JP did the best for ISU he could with this hire. If this is the case, why would we blame JP for this not working out?
