Thought I would add one of my own, particularly for the older crowd-

What is it about getting older that has surprised you?

For me personally, the strangest thing is the eye brows. One day, they're normal, and the next day you look like Andy Rooney. It seriously can happen overnight, like some hair building team in your body decided to go full force overtime on em. Those little ***** must have nothing better to do since they went on strike on the hair that used to be on my head.

I'm not even that old. Just mid 30s. But I'm amazed out how easy it is to hurt my lower back and how long it takes to recover from any kind of injury.

Finally getting to the point where what I eat affects my physique, energy, and sleep. I'm only 30.

Hair grows only in places it shouldn't like ears and nose. Metabolism slows way down. Intimate relations are better.

Glad Im not alone. Criminy. Seeing the world in a much different more mature view is nice sometimes. The lower metabolism sucks and yes the body hair. Good lord.

Even though my body is older and I can clearly see that looking in the mirror, when I stop to consider my age I am a bit taken aback that I don't "feel" like I am an old person.

Also, I quit caring about popular movies, music and television shows. And those personality/celebrity shows like TMZ are not only not interesting, but downright weird. Related to this, the shows where they gin up excitement over some upcoming guest and the audience starts whooping and hollering on cue just seems so much more fake and put on than ever before.

I'm 67. Running into people my age that I haven't seen for a while and thinking how old they look.

Can't sleep, I'm in my mid 30's and I am wide awake at 3 am (some of it is stress), but the ability to function on 4 hrs of sleep blows my mind.

Nose hair, WTF is that all about.

Eye sight is starting to go. I was trying to read the instructions on my daughters medicine - i couldn't read it.

How fast kids seem to grow now. Everybody always says "you're getting so big" or "I can't believe you're graduating, I remember when you were just a baby!" and you're like ugh, it took forever to get to be in high school! Now I'm like nieces, stop growing so damn fast!

And how young higher schoolers look. I was arguing with my husband that some kid looked like an 8th grader but they were actually like a Jr./Sr. in high school.

Also, that adults don't actually have it all figured out and know what they are doing. We're all just figuring it out as we go.

Probably the best thing about getting older is that it means you didn't die young and miss the great ride that is life.

Worst thing about getting older is losing your parents. Nobody tells you how horrible that will be. On the other hand, I probably wouldn't have believed it, even if I had been told.
