Brees

Anyone else clearly a better QB than Cutler?

Jay has been better then Wilson, Newton and Brady this season.

Been said about Cutler by many...and appears to be true...Cutler lacks the ability to lead and that is a problem for any starting QB! Regardless of stats...

Lol, so his top 10 passing stats aren't the problem it's his leadership that doesn't inspire the defense to play better?

Any of those have a last place defense?

And Cam Newton? LOL.

The only thing I would add is that you COULD pin the Buffalo, Carolina and Miami loses on Jay. Some bad interceptions in those games, and the Miami game he looked horrible. At the same time, Jay deserves all the credit in the world for the 3 wins.

you can't have a tale of two QBs.

When cutler is good Jay, it rains skittles from heaven. But bad jay is a destructive force, that brings down the rest of the team. Jay takes unnecessary sacks, fumbles, and doesn't motivate the team in addition to his INTs.

You guys are under rating Cam Newton. He's played very well this year. His team is horrible though.

When Cutler is playing his best he's a top 5 QB and better than Newton and Wilson, but his lows are much much lower.

Still I'd put him between 8th and 10th

Do the players trust him? Do they believe he is the guy they want if they get the ball in the 4th quarter down 5 points with 2 minutes to go? If we are to believe the writers (which is a total different question) it sounds as if they don't! I don't argue that the Bears defense isn't bad...it is! But if you think a team is going to win consistently with a QB that the rest of the team questions or doesn't like...I just don't see that being something I would want for a team I root for. Stats are one thing...wins are another.

On a different topic regarding the same organization...it seemed like Bear nation was ecstatic when Lovie (supposedly too conservative and boring) was replaced by an offensive genius! Maybe the Bears need to find a HC that fits somewhere in the middle of Lovie and Trestman.

I'd have to see your top 10 to agree.

Doesn't matter anyway, Payton Manning couldn't win games in Chicago with the Bears defense as it is.
Aaron Rodgers could. The evidence is being that the Packers defense is worse than the Bears.

Cutler and Romo are basically the same guy. When they are on, they can look like easily a top 5 QB in the league but when they are off, they are an abomination.

Cutler is just an easy guy for people to dislike because of the way he projects himself. His grumpy disinterested persona is a huge turnoff. If he was either a laid back guy or a rah rah guy, people wouldn't hate him so much

You give Manning all those offensive weapons and he could outscore that pathetic defense to at least a 10-6 record

That's great, bottom line is that the Bears have defense/DC/HC problems, not QB problems.

Peyton Manning is great except in the playoffs where he notoriously chokes. He's one of the greatest QBs of all time, but until he won a super bowl was considered a playoff choker. Funny how perception changes when you get a great defense.

I think the perception of Peyton still is that he chokes in big games...last year didn't change that? He did beat the Bears in a Super Bowl but he didn't help his image during the Super Bowl against the Saints.

Way up there
The Bears made their bed when they fired Lovie, they took the defense for granted and made way too many concessions to keep Cutler. IMO this is just the beginning stages of what will be a complete rebuild job in Chi town.
