And I think they are totally building to a Civil War storyline in the movies. Maria Hill working for Stark as a privatized national defense/security agency. Coulson seeing that as selling out. I could see Captain America 3 as Cap and a bunch of other heroes (Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and whoever) working underground while Stark and other publicly known heroes/ex Shield agents hunt them down.

I was actually thinking the same thing this morning. Almost makes me want to pop in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2!

Soooo, no thoughts on the Coulson reveal at the end? I'm a little confused by the meaning. Is he a clone or was he just in charge of the program and Fury used it to resurrect him after Loki killed him.

My take is, that Coulson was in charge of the TAHITI research project prior to the events in the Avengers. Fury obviously disregarded Coulson recommendation to not go forward with the project and used it on Coulson, but wiped the part of his memory involving the TAHITI procedure and his previous involvement with the program.

I think it is the later, and another reason for a wider gap between Coulson and Fury, if he is in fact still alive.

He mentioned how subjects who underwent the treatment went crazy. I think they use this as a source for villains in the future and fuel to take them down. It will explain the source of their powers and then Coulson will feel responsible for having created them in a program he was responsible for.

I was leaning this way too.

+1 to Marvel for the Man-Thing reference in the first scene too. Loved Maria Hill talking to Pepper Potts on the phone and all the references to Tony Stark last night.

Right. And of course being an expert movie hacker (Can hack anything in minutes from her laptop which is impossible but details be damned) is always important.

Haha yep. This is still the best movie hacking of all time:

Assuming the blue alien we have already seen is a Kree, which would make sense with Guardians of the Galaxy coming in August, any chance The Hydra Ward is actually a Skrull? Would allow them to bring back the good Ward later.

That would be an interesting twist, except with the origin of Ward next week it seems like they're setting up to die saving Skye or Phil.

For a spy, I find it strange that he suddenly can't control his emotions for Skye it's almost like he's a teenager. Though I guess you could say love does strange things to people.

Has Ward been to Tahiti?

I never thought of that, but that's not a bad guess.

Pretty sure the actress who plays Skye confirmed a few weeks back that it was in fact a Kree. Well it looks like she "confirmed" it and then back-tracked it after the shows producers got wind of it!
