Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Is Vaughn following anyone from ISU, UNLV, UNC, UK, KU on twitter?

Bumping this. If ISU is out, what point is there in keeping the secret?

Simply out of respect for the kid. If I was Fred and I lost out, I would still keep it quiet. Who knows, they may run into each other down the road.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

So Vaughn is concerned UNLV may be weak if this other recruit does not go there with him? How can that be, UNLV already has a GREAT recruiting class coming in. If they will be weak next year it is becuase their coach runs a crap program, it won't because of talent.

I could see his concern. Unless they have a player or two sitting out this year, it's pretty much Vaughn and Morgan too add to a team that isn't very good right now. Okonoboh is a great recruit, but you can't expect him to be that good next year.

Sounds like he might be concerned about playing time here. Could be solid off the bench though.

Rothstein: Monday Morning College Hoops Notebook; Virginia, Arizona State & More « CBS New York

- Findlay Prep’s Rashad Vaughn will announce his college decision on Tuesday and will commit to either UNLV or Iowa State. The 6-6 shooting guard is the top uncommitted prospect in the Class of 2014 and has Ben McLemore type ability. This will be an impact freshman to watch next season in college basketball.

Rothstein seems to believe that it's a done deal to either UNLV or ISU. Maybe he misspoke, so take this like everything else in this thread, basically worthless.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

how many minutes does he want to play? My goodness with a talent like that he would have no trouble getting on the floor and playing a couple of positions for a lot of minutes with our team. I'm sure our coaches have showed him how he will fit and playing should not be a concern whatsoever. If he wants to be a one and done, is confident he can be a one and down, then he should be able to go anywhere and play a lot, not just schools that have a weaker/younger roster.

Get him or lose him, I guess I don't care. It's nice to have complete trust in the pieces Fred will put together, with or without Vaughn. It may seem crazy, but if he goes somewhere else I think we may look back in 2-3 years and consider it a good thing. Harrison Barnes was a great get for UNC, but in all reality what did he really bring them?

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

as someone on CR said, the Mountain West has a tv contract on the CBS Sports Network. Maybe that is a big clue?

He follows quite a few current players as well as Fred's daughter. I don't follow him, I was just curious after seeing the "unfollowed" news. Unless since I looked he has dropped more people.

Maybe he will have five hats on a table?
600 Tuesday on Insider CBB.
He mentioned about not trusting the UNLV insider snake.
He said no one knows what he will do when Meyer said UNLV.
Fred can fly from WV tomorrow morning to Vegas if he wants.
I still feel confident.

Wesleybot with the slam dunk summary.

That's exactly my point, the ridiculousness of this thread. Oh no he no longer follows Fred, he must be going somewhere else! He doesn't follow anyone outside of players associated with any University in the running.

Also, for those of you saying you "don't care" if he comes here or not is idiotic. Will we be fine? Yes. But you most certainly should care when a player of this caliber has you in their final two and they either choose you or someone else. "Being fine" and going to final fours are completely different. I care a lot, that's why I'm constantly on this thread and have been for the past 9 months.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Camera crews already in the area, so it makes sense.

This. Twitter followers, TV networks, the speculation is all ridiculous. Quit trying to connect the dots when there's nothing to connect. None of us know anything. TV networks don't know anything. "Experts" don't know anything. I would guess that the only people outside of Pete and RV's parents that know might be Rice and Hoiberg. So unless Hoiberg is trolling us, no one knows anything. See you all at 5:31PM tomorrow for the celebration.

I think most of the poster mean this in the sense that if he comes here excellent!!! but if he goes elsewhere, I won't go ape **** like the Illinois fan base did after Cliff Alexander chose KU…

To any other commitments at this point are gravy.
