so the only person saying he said the N word is Smart, and Orr is denying that.

Glad everyone has already labeled the guy the next leader of the Klan
Personally, I think he was telling Smart to perform his exciting rendition of this song:

The sources definitely aren't too reliable, but after re-watching the clip myself, "Go back to Africa" lines up awfully close to what Jeff Orr lips are saying.

Also, you bring up a good point about how late into the confrontation that alleged comment is. It looks like before Orr finished his sentence, Smart is already mid-shove, so there must have been something said right as Smart was crashing into the stands right after the foul, and most likely no camera picked that up.

Link to clip that shows what Orr was saying? All I've seen is him saying "sorry about that" after Smart was up in his face.

That part is key to me. I think the comment that really started it happens while Smart was still on the floor. Just based on when he seems to start reacting. If 'Go back to Africa' was said I think it was probably the last straw in the interchange.

To justify Smarts actions because a word hurts your feelings is silly. Smart is a future millionaire, he would get the last laugh. Let the bigot be a bigot. Pushing him only hurts Smart. Dumb dumb dumb.

Texas Tech Fan to Smart:

I just stumbled on this. In real time, the Africa quote looks like what he said, but with the slowed down GIF in this link, now that you point out the "Sorry about that" I see that being what he actually said. It isn't known what Orr said leading up to whatever he may have been sorry for, but if all anyone can prove is that Orr said was "Sorry about that", then Marcus Smart is in HUGE trouble.

Who cares if he says crap to players during games. If he crossed the line and dropped an N-bomb, shame on him and TT should do something about it, but there is nothing wrong with flipping the bird and mocking players.

I like how it keeps evolving what he said. Everyone's playing telephone and what he said keeps changing. I doubt Smart even heard him correctly, considering there was just a dunk-foul and the fans would have been cheering/booing.

Wow....really? So Grayer should have been suspended his All American season? Maybe we should take him out of the rafters? If someone says something outrageously inflammatory it doesn't justify the actions but it puts them in a more understandable context.

I hate to derail this great thread but do you have evidence of this supposed punch from Grayer? Others on here seem to think you're making that up.

Looks like we'll know pretty soon.

Jeff Goodman@GoodmanESPN 18m
Oklahoma State has set a news conference for 5 pm CT today, spokesman told ESPN. Marcus Smart, Travis Ford, AD Mike Holder will all speak.

Imagine, for a moment, if a slur was actually said, having to stand up the next day and publicly apologize for your reaction to it.

By having them all there it sounds like it will be a PR move to try and save face/hopefully reduce the probable suspension.
