Re: Rashad Vaughn

Damian Lillard has shown that where you go to college isn't the most important factor when it comes to getting to the NBA. If you have the talent the NBA will find you. Lillard was taken sixth overall and went to college at Weber State. How many of you know which state Weber State is even in without looking it up? I admit I had to look it up just now.

The Weber State Wildcats play in the Big Sky conference and they're located in Ogden, Utah.

You didn't even give me a chance to guess!!

He was also a 2 star recruit and his best offers being Wichita State and St. Mary's. Your point stands that the NBA will find talent. But you make it out that he was a one and done that chose Weber State. He was a four year guy that developed.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

A better example would be Michael Beasley, number 1 recruit in his class, choosing Kansas State. Or OJ Mayo choosing USC. KSU didn't make the tourney the year before Beasley committed. USC has very little basketball success but made a nice run in the NCAA tourney the year before. We have made more NCAA tourney success and regular season success recently than those schools did when they got those guys.

Those guys were still lottery picks going to non-blue blood schools. Those are better examples for why Rashad coming to Iowa State means he will still be noticed by the NBA and be successful.

For that matter, how many NBAers come from Europe with unknown coaches?

Is Tim Floyd going to rejoin the staff at ISU and give Vaughn $35,000 to go there like he did with Mayo at USC?
