If you are bringing an rv, you can camp in the "vet med" lot. We do this for every game. We pull in Friday night at leave Sunday morning. It's close to the stadium and you can tailgate in that lot

Friday night games ALWAYS kill the tailgating. Ugh.

Really? Thursday night games to open the season are awesome. Pull in to the lot around 10:00 to get lunch ready. Take a couple days of vacation and get yourself a 5 day weekend with the holiday Monday.

I would think Friday would be just as fun.

Are you serious? Just because it's your Super Bowl, doesn't mean it's ours too. Honestly, win or lose, this is just another game for cyclones....our super bowl comes two weeks later. Haha jk.

But seriously, this is an August thread, not January.

Play them late in the year, and they win by 21 at least. You caught them early, and they start slow every year, especially when they have new personnel.

Tickets for NDSU are some of the cheapest on the ISU schedule. BCS teams get more money for their tickets. Just the way it is. Or sit on a hillside for $10 or $15.

Lodging can be an issue just like it is for any of us when we go to a road game. It is not cheap. Feel free to drive a car and use the savings on the gasoline, by not driving an RV, on your motel room. We have great tailgating. Going to an ISU game is an all day experience. You do not need restaurants and bars for pre and post game. The party is in the lots.

I expect this Iowa State team to look considerably better in the first game next season than they ever looked last fall. Ten times better than the loss to UNI last fall. There is a very good chance NDSU will make a game out of it but our guys frankly should be able to win with ease.

I have no faith in football until proven otherwise.

Who ever this NDSU fan is is completely delusional. It's imposable to recruit anyone here, there is no way NDSU could recruit at all with the big boys when they don't want to play in the cold as **** weather(same issue we have). Most of the top recruits in the country probably don't even know what the FCS is, so to them winning the FCS championship is as good as a 4-8 season.

NDSU doesn't get the invite because they have a small fanbase and wouldn't move the needle in the TV ratings. Props to Bohl for turning them into a 1AA power, but that's all they'll ever be and now it's in the rear view.

ISU will roll NDSU, but at least lakes can "dominate the tailgate".

Saw somewhere there are talks of making this a Friday night game.

That would be great! For sure it would get national exposure as the prime time game. We havent heard anything about that but Im keeping my eye open. Possibly the Fox lead-off game?

We had last years opener at Manahattan Ks. switched to the Friday night game. The tailgating was pretty big with lots of NDSU fans but there were acres of open area left over at least where we were. I think it did have a negative impact on the tailgating but the KSU fans were out in force with all the space close to the stadium filled up.

The Friday night game means travel on Wed, thursday and Saturday, which means you can get home on Sunday. I like that a little better but if this game were in Fargo I would want it on Saturday too.

I would think it wont be moved unless one of the big networks wants to pick it up a show case it as the "spotlight" game.
