This happens every game. I hid my head in my hands and refused to move from 3:30 until some time around :48 left. My superstitions prevailed.
I agree, but that wasn't really the crowd's fault. Every time ISU started to make a run, iowa would hit a shot. They kept ISU at arms length the whole game. Pretty tough for people to get loud when the team can stop the opponent.
Agree totally, great crowd on the Gessel free throws but very disappointing throughout.
True. Every other person has their head down looking at their phone unless there's live action.
It was really really loud during Gessel's first free throw. However, once he missed it I swear to God the air was vibrating during the second one.
I've been going to ISU games my entire life and was in the student section during the 2 back to back Big 12 championship years and last night sitting in the lower level the noise during that second free throw cannot even be described.

That was easily the loudest point of the night. I was screaming my *** off and couldn't hear myself screaming.
Anybody witness both the "Earth Quake" Okie St game and this one ? Was this as loud as the Earth Quake?
I thought Fred said that last night was the loudest he's heard it since that Okie State game.
Crowd was incredible. I dont know how anyone who loves college basketball cannot say Hilton is easily top 10 best venues in college basketball. 15k fans night in and night out, and with the design of Hilton it traps sound. I love it! Crowd won that last minute and half. Proud of our guys for sticking with it too, heck of a win.
I was at both and think it was almost like an exact replica of the sound in the game from '92.
Not sure if the floor was shaking but I can tell you that Gesell was visibly shaking. Hope he packed an extra pair of undies because he definitely **** himself in front of 15,000 ISU fans standing at the FT line.
Fred said it "rivaled" that game which sounds to me like he thought it was generally as loud.
For those who recently reviewed, I watched it again last night. I had muted the game early on live because of the Hok drooling announcers, but decided to listen this time to hear them cry when we won. Wow it was loud. But I should have rewound over something the doofus said earlier in the game. Did announcer dude actually say Georges has a big fat butt or something along those lines? That seems a little inappropriate at best.
