I said he's horrible? Errrrrnt. Incorrect. Although I believe he's something like 1-10 as a starter at ISU.
We don't need a new QB, we need a new OC and better OL play. Our young QB's, WR's, and RB's are fine... But they are only as good as their protection and plays called.
I guess I was basing that question more on the responses I am hearing from the coaches when asked questions. We are constantly being told by the staff that they aren't getting the job done. It was more of a jab at the staff than anything. Kind of like me saying, "My kids a little *******. I don't like having ******* kids, I sure wish someone would make my kid less of an *******." Which makes me a ****** parent. Basically, these QBs are these coaches kids. IF they are telling us they aren't getting the job done, then in the end, the biggest slam is on the coaching staff. These two were recruited to do a job, it's the coaches job to help them do that. you can't just throw up your arms and say, "Well, they aren't doing what I taught them." No, it means you didn't teach them correctly.
Sorry I was caught up in my heated debate with CurvedAir so I was extra sensitive @ the time. My bad! I totally agree that the coaches need to take responsibility on this. After such a terrible season offensively, there almost has to be a scapegoat and it can't be the players. We all know who the scapegoat is/should be so I won't even bother mentioning his name.
Love your post and I agree ... I wonder what the over & under (amt of games) that Joe Montana would last with this Offensive Line?
Same simple question I asked earlier. If either Richardson or Rohach was the definitive short term and/or long term answer at QB, and it's all on the offensive line, etc., why is Rhoads playing musical QB's?
due to the fact CPR is just as clueless and bumbling as the OC. They have no idea what to do. It is a joke.
So you're more qualified to make that decision from your couch than either of them. I find that hard to believe.

How old are you? Honest question. I'm guessing no older than 25, and if you are, you really need to get help.

No way. It starts with the QB. Most important position on the field. I think we have B12-level depth at those positions you mention, although I would take JUCO help there as well. We will not win with either Rohach or Richardson regardless of the defense, IMO.
Well, according to your logic, yes, since "he is not the answer" and you are proposing to Waste a Juco scholly on a new QB who would need to learn our offense in a few months and function at a higher level than either of our two existing QB's. So he loses one game in high school in Florida, and has only won one game as a starter here. That tells me he isn't the issue and you obviously don't understand cause and effect. Snow Craig was spot on.

I have no clue what your "cause and effect" comment means. Same question, if he isn't part of "the issue" why has Rhoads benched him several times and reluctant to name him the starter. His high school record has absolutely nothing to do with his performance now and whether he's a B12-winning QB. Also, it's laughable to assume that it's a waste to offer a JUCO QB. Just how do you know this?
I'm not sure a JUCO QB would be the right idea, unless they can find a Cam Newton-caliber (not at all likely). Right now we have 2 QB's quarreling for PT. We have a RS Junior behind them (Creekmur) and 2 True Freshmen who are redshirting this year, but both somewhat highly touted, and projected to start in some capacity at some point in time. We are approaching a log-jam at the position and will almost certainly see attrition take place, unless somebody changes positions, and my money would be on Lanning or Hodge.
He is not the main issue because he doesn't have a running game to support him, and for much of the year, has had less than 2 seconds to throw after the ball is snapped. Up until the last game or two, he hasn't had enough time to even set his feet to throw, and he cannot move nearly as well as last year because of the ankle that CPR himself told everyone in week 3 would nag him all year. It has. A QB's best asset is his feet, not just his arm.
How is that ANY QBs fault? The cause is a horrible OC, lack of balance and rhythym on offense, lack of consistent OL play, dropped passes, bad routes, and you want to waste a scholly on a new QB? That's like saying we need to throw billions of dollars more to fix Obamacare. The root issue is lack of leadership. It is coaching. His high school experience is very relevant...put him around good coaching, good OL play and he is an awesome QB. A winner. End of story. Pull good coaching away, and here is your result. What QB has CM developed at ISU? None.
And quit telling people they are wrong all the time. Be a grown up, provide your opinion, and back it up with facts.
I take it you disagree with this person's opinion. What I do not get is the need for all the insults and name calling. Maybe you need to grow up.
the Cyclones have a potpourrie of quarterbacks we don't need another quarterback. the reason Sam has been out is injuries and the fall out from injuries. As far as I'm concerned you can blame the OC for that, based on calling the zone read about 50 times against UNI. That one game and the asinine play calling put our entire season in a tailspin. the boys have a few games this season to get their mojo back let's root like hell for them.
