I think so too based on home courts/ attendance/ fan interest. I know K-State isn't far behind, but for some reason they can't seem to beat KU but every 5 yrs it seems.

Based on those, it'll be ISU\KU\KSU leading the conference from now on until forever, with OSU\OU behind, and the texas schools in the extreme distance.

...And then the refs came and b-slapped ISU. And ISU the giant went back to sleep.

ISU has 10x the potential to challenge for the top spot in the BigXII as Iowa does in its conference.

Iowa hasn't been relevant in almost a decade

Disagree. But that's not what we're talking about. My quote was in reference to Isoroku Yamamoto's quote after bombing Pearl Harbor.

Honestly I think we will be better next year than people think. The biggest thing will be PG play. Thomas, Bluford, and SDW among others should be able to drain threes year one. We are going to have four new guys in the mix who were recruited a big part because of their defense. Niang should be a little bigger, and I don't have to say anything about Ejim.

I wish someone would have roused the Sleeping Giant before the games in Lubbock and Austin.

HoopsT,
You couldn't be more right my man. After going to several KU boards after the game, I found a couple threads where they were relishing & making fun of just how much they made Little Hoiberg cry. That's a damn shame man he's just a kid and didn't want to see his daddy lose. They're probably the same type of people who would mock a mentally handicapped person in a wheelchair too. Then they were making rude comments about how hot Fred's wife is and what they'd like to do to her sexually. So yeah, I would say they may have become our new public enemy #1 until the Hawkeyes get relevant again.

I think KU and Self should be worried. Hoiberg, in Year 3, with 3 starting transfers, 1 out of position SF playing PF and a freshman almost swept KU if 2 miracles didn't take place. Once Fred starts getting his guys(next year to me is Year 1 of Fred recruits) things will only be getting better.

They can laugh about little Hoiberg all they want. One day, he'll be raining 3's on their ***** and will get the last laugh.

Besides, KU has a track around their football field.

I don't disagree that ISU has talented players coming in, but how is next year year 1 with Fredy's guys? White, Allen, Babb, McGee, Booker, Lucious, Niang, Clyburn, Ejim, are all Hoiberg's guys.

I've always hated them, always will, but I pretty much hate every other team in the conference for one thing or another. Okay, not TCU thus far, but they'll have a WV moment sometime and I can nurture that burning coal into a furnace of hatred.

Feels good. ;)

The transfers were picked by Hoiberg, yes. But you don't build and sustain a program on transfers. Hoiberg took in transfers to jump start his program. Get talent on the team ASAP.

To me guys like Niang, SDW, Okoro, Thomas, Monte, and the JC guys are the players Fred wants to build with and on. But my main point is that Hoiberg has been able to use the transfers and the guys left from McD to challenge KU in the last 2 years. Just think what he can do once he really has his plan in motion.
