My youngest brother liked to eat chapstick, and my other brother and I once convinced him to eat a dead leaf.

My husband used to eat colored markers, or at least bite off all the tips. And his older brothers got him to eat box-elder bugs one time. After hearing this, we went through some of their old markers, and sure enough, there were a bunch of flat ones.

One of his brothers though, liked to eat sand out of the sandbox. They also had a cat. Guess what the cat used the sandbox for?

Clarification on if they are used or new would be something I'd add to this.

Haha don't worry they were new ones still in the wrapper. He got them out of the box in the bathroom drawer. I've since added child locks to all the drawers so hopefully no more of that...

When I was about 12 I fed some of these to a goat.

It was as funny as you might expect.

When my father found out, he got really mad and asked me how I would like it if someone did that to me. Ever defiant, I decided to show him it was no big deal, so I chewed one.

It wasn't as funny, then.

This thread quickly went terribly wrong.

One of the girls in my kid's preschool class has a compulsion to eat metal. They think it has to do with things she went through before she was adopted from abroad.

my wife ate onions like an apples when she was young.

edit: when my wife was young, her mother let her have the head of her beer. She still likes it to this day.
