Yeah, I remember White having a pretty good game against us, along with Barnett, which was his first start, I think. Just curious why he isn't getting more playing time? Especially if Jantz is having turnover issues? ISU will definitely be a good test to see if our run defense is where I think it is.

I don't remember Johnson, though, but he does look quick!

Assuming you mean Barnett there? It was another fall camp decision between him and Jantz. Personally, I think it came down to Barnett is better at the zone read, Jantz was more accurate in passing, but he just has to clean up the bad decisions. Considering our RB's and their skill, relying on the zone read wasn't so important.

Barnett isnt as big of threat passing and running compared to Jantz according to Rhoads and Johnson was injured last season vs Texas and almost never played football again. The good thing for us is the coaching said Johnson is huge to this team now in how he plays. He goes all out because he said he knows now how quickly this can be taken away from him so he will give it his all and it is rubbing off on teammates.

Jantz is a better passer than Barnett. Much bigger arm and a legitimate deep ball QB (he took a number of shots vs. Iowa that were just barely missed). His turnover issues are getting quite a bit better. His completion % is over 70% on the season.

Would New Mexico even know what good football looks like? I mean everyone looks good against them.

cfbstats.com - 2012 National
Against the pass: We are 21, New Mexico is 112, and I did not know there was a Texas State but they are 114
Against the run: we are 34, New Mexico is 91 and this Texas State is 64
Total defense: we are 16, New Mexico is 113, and Texas State is 100

Little dose of reality is coming in two weeks, sorry you get no respect when you pull the Snyder card and play the three weakest teams in football, why no Savanna State? Were they not available.

Well, to be fair, those stats are after playing Tech. And, I wouldn't classify TSU as one of the 3 worst teams. Remember, they did beat Houston by 17 on the road. You could probably put Arkansas as one those 3 worse teams, too, since they lost to ULM. Also, that same Northwestern St team beat Nevada this past weekend, so you could say Nevada is one of the 3 worse teams. I wonder who UNM will beat?

The Tech fan is making one huge error in judging Tech's results so far this year. Is it possible that the teams that they played this year have gotten worse? To me that seems like the most likely explanation to why Tech appears to have improved.

I don't think some of you know what a troll is. This guy is definitely not a troll. I love our fans and I love the swagger that comes along with these wins, but I fear we are starting to act like Hawkeye fans.

Has Houston even won a game? And Nevada beat Texas State 45-34. So the teams you have beat have no like 3 wins combined against more bad teams. Texas Tech found the real cream puffs this year, but I guess with Tuberville on the hot seat I dont blame him,

Hey guys just letting you all know that I threw for 4 TD's tonight in intramural flag football... If you guys could bring this to Rhoads' or Pollard's attention I'd love to help the program reach a championship level...

Agree he's not a troll. He is drinking some serious koolaid, but who doesn't from time to time.

Hahaha, well not quite. Transitive property would be if I said we could beat Nevada, because NWS beat them. All I did was point out that a team Tech did beat couldn't be one of the 3 worse teams, because they did beat someone else. Wyoming also lost to Cal Poly, they should probably be one of the worst.

There's an awful lot of "3 worse teams" out there.

But, wait a minute? I thought Tech scheduled the "3 worst teams"? Are you now trying to say that these are the "next 3 worse" to the actual 3 worst teams?:swoon:

There is a pile of bad team in FBS and Tech has played three of them and their opponents and have played some of them too.

Hey Doc, I like your avatar! It looks like he is throwing the "Guns Up"! Is that your son?

He is. He's not doing guns up, he's just pointing at his Top Gun hat. His mother gave it to him when he went off to culinary school. She's a dumb *****.

The point is that Tech hasn't played a Top 100 team yet. Face it, your schedule has been a bunch of cupcakes up to this point.

That's what's so great about college football nowdays. Anybody can beat anyone. Did anyone really expect Tech to beat OU in Norman last season? Did anyone really think OSU would lose to ISU last year? Anybody really think Pitt would beat Va. Tech this week? How about Texas St killing Houston by 17 in Houston?

A lot of parity, and crazy things happen when you go on the road.

Yes, Tech could win any of them, or lose any of them, and I'm not downplaying ISU. I just think we are a ton better this season, and will show it in 2 weeks.

You're absolutely right. However, just because you flip a coin and it can land heads or tails any given flip doesn't mean that picking heads to come up 8/10 times isn't crazy. (and the odds you are dealing with are much worse than a coin flip) I honestly thought all of your other conversation is pretty rational, but there are 2 huge upsets, 1 upset, and a coin flip(at best) all going in your favor with two losses to heavy favorites.
