No talk on ticket prices?

I thought I heard/read somewhere that the plan is to keep the ticket prices around $350/season for a while (5 years maybe)? I'm probably wrong though.

BryceC you are right.. there needs to be a pay back.

This is our (ISU supporters, not fans) all in moment... it gets moving now, with GC and GM or it won't/can't. I am betting all in right now .... I WANT it to happen to us.

I've been "all in" about 10 times in the last 10 years.

I have been betting on us since I was one. but the difference here is, it is the ADs all in moment for us supporters. That is a first for ISU. And I find that exCYting.

Yes it would, I would have a hard time bumping up to $1,000 donation, plus 2 $350 seats for 6 games if I coul spend $10 a month to watch them all in the comfort of my house with a better view than the seats I have.

You're assuming a Big 12 Network would have any idea how to broadcast a football game. One camera up in the press box hardly would make it worth it.

No way the Big 12 puts the kind of money the Big 10 has in to a network with a HD crew at every game, etc.

On another note, to some discussion earlier, students now pay the same price as the cost of a season ticket on the hillsides.

I hope the Big 10 network does good. It seemed like there were more slots open this year for Big 12 football.

I am one of the lucky few that have endzone seats. five of them all together.. the key is to be at the Jake early , thats what I made the wife do last year.. but it was amazing to see several seats around us have different patrons every week.

I'm sorry, but I don't we think we should have to pay more than schools who make BCS and good bowls year in and year out. They not only get to see a great team play year in and year out as well as bowl game trips, they get to pay less than me having to watch us lose to Kent State and UNI. I will probably get season tix anyways next year, but seriously. I know some will say "you gotta cough up the dough if you wanna see improvements." I would like to at least see 6 wins again before I shell out more money.

Yep. Tough to pay big bucks for 'promises' and a dream. Results drive the reality.

It's nice that I get Varsity season tickets and only pay $32.50 per game(not counting NCC donation).

I hope so too...I really enjoyed big10 football this fall. I watched more big10 games than big12 games for the first time ever. I hate it, but right now, they kick everyone elses butts. That league knows how to treat the fans right, unlike the big12.

I think you will see an SEC network next.

Would you rather pay $50 for a parking pass or $15/game during a 6 or 7 game season?

Seems like a pretty simple choice to me, but maybe I'm using "fuzzy math."

Update on tickets. I was all set on not getting tickets this year after the increase. After thinking about it..............................OK take my money. The check is in the mail. We better have a decent year.

Yeah, it sucks that they have to have prices like that. You know that JP kept the price the same this year so that he can jump it up again next year with the extra game. I fully expect them to charge $400 next season and tell us that we are actually paying LESS per game. Yeah!!

But what is the alternative? Not going? Even if the game is on TV, that just isn't nearly as fun. Looking back at this last season, ISU sucked. But I had a great time tailgating (like I always do). I'm not missing that ANY year...especially if Chizik gets it going.

As for the comparison, I'd like to see a real apples to apples in conference. Like, 50 yard line, 30 rows up, what is the ticket price and what is the required donation? 30 yard line, upper level, what is the ticket price and donation? From Pollard's materials, ISU is basically last in donation per NCC member. So I'm betting bottom-line, we still pay less for our tickets than most other teams' fans.

BTW, I fully agree with charging $50 for parking. You still pay less than going to the public lots and the NCC donation basically gets you better seats. There are tons of expenses (traffic cops, parking attendants, cleanup) associated with gameday. And, they need to resurface lots from time to time. ISU fans should help pay those costs. I actually hope that they start charging a couple of dollars for public parking for MBB.

I'm of the opinion if ISU football is ever going to turn into something special, now is the time. I'm making significant investments so if and when this thing goes big time, I'm in a position to take full advantage (preferred seating, parking, etc.).

Now is the time...can always scale back in the future if it doesn't happen.

everyone says "lets renovate the stadium, lets bowl in the south endzone," but when it comes to paying for it, everyone says why this why that. if you want it you have to pay for it!!

I did this one time - pretty pretty comparable. OU, UT, NU, as you would expect, have a lot high donation requirements for good seats. OSU is actually pretty high now too.

We're higher or at least right there with everyone else.

I don't think the prices are waaaay out of line with the direction college football is going, but I think that the direction college football is going is way too expensive. Not everyone can afford it. If you can, that is great and I think you should support as much as you can, but I'm not going to fault the guy who is a huge fan, but can only go to one game a year.

I think of it in terms of a vacation. An enjoyable vacation somewhere for 6 days is going to cost you at least $1,000 per person. I had that much fun. It is only money. Heck, my health insurance premium INCREASE would more than pay for my season tickets for my wife and I. So I don't know what everyone is bellyaching about. Go fill up your SUV. If you stay home a couple times you will have more than recouped the investment on what tickets cost.

The season ticket cost is a small price to pay for being a Cyclone.

Not to pick on you, but I love it when people who have no idea what state someone else's finances are in says the ticket prices are no big deal.

For the record, I don't drive an SUV. And my 1996 Camry with 260k+ miles on it, no passenger side mirror, no driver's side door handle, a mudflap that grinds against the tire when I turn left because my wife hit a deer a few years ago, and a window that won't roll up in the back in the dead of winter doesn't cost all that much to fill up.

Plus, I haven't taken a vacation to anyplace that cost $1000 a person since I got married and went on my honeymoon almost 3 years ago.

Believe it or not, some of these ticket price increases ARE felt by some of the fanbase. To suggest otherwise is insulting.
