Some Reid Travis superlatives copied and pasted from twitter:

@jameskerti:
Minnesota Pump N Run Reid Travis is long and establishes a good base. He can guard a few positions.

@INrecruitguide:
Reid Travis: 6'7 PF (2014) from Minnesota Pump-n-Run is the real deal. Very strong, beast on the boards. High-major prospect.

Jok has been playing well this week. I really think we should go after him since we already have our top two guard targets committed to us. It would be a risk worth taking in my mind assuming he can stay healthy, which I guess is a big if.

Sounds Like Matt Thomas is having an overall good week at the 2012 Next Level Invitational. Utilizing his "sweet pull up jumper" he "drilled perimeter shot after perimeter shot". :cool:
Day 1
TOP PERFORMANCES
Matt Thomas 6-5 - 2013 - Wisconsin Playmakers- Thomas continues to improve in all facets of his game. The Iowa State commit torched SYF Wednesday night, often putting the Playmakers on his back. Thomas used his sweet pull-up jumper all evening and dished out a few nice assists. Thomas finished with 27 points to lead the Playmakers past SYF

Day 2
STAR WATCH
Matt Thomas – 2013 – G – Wisconsin Playmakers
6-4 – Onalaska H.S. – Onalaska, WI

The Iowa State bound sharpshooter continued his stellar play as he drilled perimeter shot after perimeter shot in another big time effort. One of the premiere shooters in the country, Thomas impressed once again on day 2.

Good Work Thomas, looks like Zach Hanson was also mentioned in that article.

I know this has been said a hundred times on here, but I like the fact that the staff is identifying kids who are going to be studs much much earlier than other programs. I think our recruiting is going to be on another level over the next couple years.

Watched Hassan Martin today at the 17 and under Adidas Invitational championship game. Looked a little passive but he's only 16 years and was being guarded by Chris Walker (6'10 power forward) a consensus top 10 who is a tremendous shot blocker. Had 12 points I believe and at least 8 came off high flying dunks. Looked very good defensively and held Walker to just 4 points. Very long, mobile, and athletic. Didn't even look to shoot outside of 15 feet but that should come as he develops that part of his game. He missed most of last season with a hand injury and just needs to play more basketball. I believe Cornell Mann was there watching and we're one of Hassan's leaders at this point in his recruitment. Really like this kid

Thanks for posting, nice update...

From what I have been reading, it seems that Hassan and "Bo" Zeigler are two prospects that are developing into high major prospects and I am guessing when the rankings are updated they (much like Monte Morris and Matt Thomas who themselves have been impressing) will be moving up the recruiting rankings. FWIW.

I've got to hand it to Fred and staff for their ablity to identify talent early and start recruiting these High Schoolers before a lot of other programs seem to know about them (i.e. Georges Niang).

No idea where this comes from, but a Rhode Island recruitnik just tweeted the following:

@RhodyHoops
URI, Iowa St., Creighton reportedly the leaders for 2013 SF Hassan Martin. #gorhody

That makes me smile. I hope it's true.

I think this guy will be a fantastic role/energy player, kind of in the Godfrey/Robert Faulkner mold. I don't think we'll ever complain about laying it in rather than dunking it home.

What other SF would we have in 2013? I'm not sure, so I could be wrong, but i don't think well have any? Martin could be a starter when he's a sophomore.

I could easily be wrong, be he sure looks like a PF unless he can really develop his outside game. He has the size you'd love in a 3, but the stills don't appear to be there yet.

I see. I haven't watched him at all, so I could be wrong. I would take a SF/PF anyday.

Here's a future roster for you: Recruit Lists Scholarship Breakdown

In 2014, we don't technically have any labeled as a small forward in that bunch now. A lot of combo guards and then power forwards...

But, Doc is correct in stating that it seems like he would be more of a power forward w/ a inch or two left to grow (he is now 6'7")
