I think my point of contention with Baylor isn't understood by some. But that's ok. My opinion won't really change by argument - only by on-court performance. I'm bored talking Baylor - we can move on and get back to hyping our recruits.

Agreed back to some the recruiting news.
I haven't seen this posted yet from 7/1, this maybe ISU's next priority? I know he has had an offer from ISU for a while.

2013 Curtis/New Heights (NY) small forward Hassan Martin is one of the hottest up and coming prospects on the market right now. Rhode Island, Creighton, Iowa State, Providence, UMass, George Washington, St. Joseph's, Duquesne, Kansas State and Indiana are making a strong push and constantly keeping tabs on him, according to his AAU coach Chris Alesi.

Are you, and others who believe this, going to be saying the same kind of stuff when Hoiberg lands 4 top 30 kids in 2014?

If we land 4 top 30 kids in 2014 I will absolutely be concerned that something isn't on the up and up. Heck, 2 top 30 kids in 2014 would probably raise some flags for me.

IF Fred lands 4 top 30 kids in 2014, or anything close to that, Ill think its because of his NBA ties that were clearly on display in the draft last week.
What is Scott Drew selling??

Fred is a new coach and has proved he can coach at this level. That along with nba connections and increased success and a good fan base actually create a good program that players will want to be at.

If my wish list means anything to the staff (it doesn't), I would love them to make Martin a priority. If anyone hasn't already, go to Martin's profile page on recruitlists, and watch a video or two. The guy is a human pogo-stick, who assaults the rim. His high-flying athleticism reminds me of Rahshon Clark.

@cloneteach

You're looking on the surface. There is no way they should have gotten a four seed in the *conference tournament. I think they got a 5 seed (not sure) after being a number 1 seed pick after going 17-0 in the non-con. Then they played pretty crappy against the teams that finished ahead of them: 1-5. Like Cydkar said, the NCAA tourney is a crapshoot. Mizzou and Duke lose on the first day, but Baylor makes it to the elite 8? If Drew had coached the Dream Team, they probably wouldn't have gotten gold.

Have you seen him interviewed? It's clear what he's 'selling'. I'll just infer though, without saying it flat out. The whole athletic department sells/gushes it, and every great athlete they've had in recent memory makes mention of it all the time.

Also, about Hoiberg and 2014, I'm just stirring the pot a bit.

Blair Kerkhoff (sp?) a KC Star reporter was on 810 here yesterday. Was very complimentary regarding Drew's "salesman" qualities when away from an interview setting. Apparently, he is very much a preacher and that's what these kids are buying. That and the cash I'm sure he's handing out as well.
