I forgot that I also need to give a shoutout to Red's Alehouse in North Liberty as their flatbread pizzas are hands-down the best flatbread pizzas in the state. I'm still going with Tomasos though as best all around.

Alley's pizza here in Nevada is pretty damn good. I really like Vesuvius (not sure I am right on spelling,) is good as well. I do not have a favorite pizza since I have not been to most places mentioned.

Not sure I have a clear favorite, but some that would be in the running are:

TJ's Pizza (Clermont IA)
Maybe's Pizza (Decorah IA)
Great Plains (Ames): Oat crust is the best
Black Market (Ames): Love the Chicago style with homemade sausage and black olives, Iowa Chop is also good, plus a bunch of others I plan on trying.

OP and Pizza Pit are okay but nothing great imo

I actually currently work in the food service (I'm a student) at a pizza restaurant. Not saying which one, however. But I know people who have worked at Black Market saying things happen that I'd never imagine happening

Do tell

Rastrelli's in Clinton.

It's also pretty much the only reason to go to Clinton.

Rastrelli's pizza is very good. While still in far eastern Iowa swing by Geno's in Preston (get the thin crust) followed by a stop at Hall of Fame in Dewitt for the all-meat with mushrooms on the thick crust.

Also Vitali Joe's in Clinton makes a pretty good pizza.

What about worst pizza place in Iowa? I would go with Northern Lights.

While I love Casey's pizza, especially their breakfast pizza (definitely #1 in its category), I would definitely not have it as #1. However, I am surprised by how many people on here do have it as their all time favorite. Interesting for sure. Didn't reallize it would be that popular.

Oddly enough, my wife and I moved out of the state for 5 years. The day we moved back to eastern iowa, it was Casey's pizza for supper on a stack of moving boxes. There were Casey's where we moved to, but none of them sold pizza. We sat there in our unpacked dining room and realized we were finally back to where we belonged.

Pizza Hut
Depends which Pizza hut you go to. Some I've had is gross dried out pizza with no sauce. Others are very good for a chain pizza. Probably a lot like TJs that was stated in the taco thread.
