Is GMAC in love with Peterson and Haluska?

I say that tongue and cheek, but I swear he refuses to allow others to "grow" into the players we hope they will by giving them majority playing time.

I think GMAC feels as if the team needs one or both of them on the floor at all times and I just don't get it.

McD is 0-6 now at ISU against MVC teams. Wow, that's sad; even taking into consideration how decent the MVC has become.

I wasn't happy with the McD hire at first, but I saw his coaching potential in the Ohio St and Texas games last year. I thought both games were very well coached and he had the boys ready to play.

Tonight, nobody looked ready to play. It was a very poor effort all around.

I guess I must have missed their completely dominating game changing performances this year. They are our best players no doubt but you know whom I am referring to. Give me a break.

I think you're missing plenty Chris.

You've dissed GMac to the nth degree. He's in game #35 of his ISU career. He has the two best players, arguably since Tinsley/Fizer.

The players you mean are ALL first year and/or freshman, in their 8th game(?). If I'm not mistaken - Wes is THE ONLY 2nd year player of GMac's on the roster.

Any you are burying these guys already.

Think you NEED the break.

That is the strange thing. Last year I actually thought we ran some plays. Now it is the run 25 seconds off then chuck it up offense. Oh, and don't forget about throwing up a big brick on the offense rebound. That is if we actually try for one.

Exactly. Our guards can not initiate an offense for anything. The clock runs down and someone (anyone including Thompson) chucks it up from 20 feet and prays that it goes in. Pitiful and hard to watch.

Re: was "discombobulated" correct

Blue, you and I argued a little bit at that time as well. I don't know if discom was right, but things look bad right now. As I said in a different post, I can't help but wonder if Rob Jeter may have held the program together better than GM. No way of knowing and now all we can really do is sit around, wait, and hope for the best. I used to really get pumped up for basketball season, I haven't felt that way in a long time.

Boy, I hate possibly being wrong!!! ESPECIALLY when it comes to Cyclones hoops losing to prove me wrong. Let's hope all my defending him turns out to be correct!!

Where did it go wrong for the BB program?

Curious what everyone thinks about the turning point of the program. ISU was a pretty consistent NCAA tournament team from about 1985 through 2001. What is the reason for the slide of this once-proud program?

I repeat again - Mike Taylor covered up for some of our leadership ills last year. He forced up shots that other people refused to take.

Even Corey McIntosh played better point guard than our non scorers do this year. Diante cannot finish, Sean Haluska cannot hit a bucket for granny, and BP has a hard time getting the ball up court in reasonable time. Hard to understand.

Take heart - it'll get better.

And as an added bonus when it does - you'll get the luxury of seeing most of these "fans" do an about-face, sing his praises, and act like they were behind him all the way.

They were, of course. Just most of the time with a knife.

It's rather sad - but that's the state of college athletics today...

The loss at Texas in 2001 in my mind was the beginning of what has been a long downhill slide. Granted there have been moments here and there. NCAA berth a couple years ago, beating KU is always a plus, etc. But that loss to Texas was definitely the first crack in the dam in my mind.

Originally, the question was asked if "dsicombobulated" was correct about McDermott. It was not a thread ripping on the team so I have no idea why it got moved.

Did tonight's game remind anyone of the UNI game at the UNI Dome three years ago?

I believe that he is a certain poster under another name now. I never had any hard feelings against him, so I wont throw my accusations at him. But he still walks among us...

For anyone that wasn't here the 1st couple months, some people made him a big deal.

I sure hope it does get better!! But, I must admit, for the first time tonight I have a hint of doubt in my mind.

Gene is 0-1 against MVC and 0-2 against MAC

I'd be surprised if he was, based on my past knowledge of certain things that were put in place to keep him out.

After terrorizing the board and nasty threats towards the man himself here - seemed well deserved.

Sometimes negative threads are mysteriously moved. It is like the weather - never know for sure when it will rain.....
