The more I look into him the more I'm liking this Tony Franklin character. Minus the Auburn blemish he improved the offensive rankings from the preceding year the first year he took over as OC at each stop. The following year after he left the team took a dip offensively.
A few concerns though he does seem a bit nomadic. Longest he stayed as OC for the same school is 2 years.
Also, although his Offensive rankings are good his Passing Efficiency seems to lag several rankings behind. Not sure if this just a characteristic of his offense or a warning sign.
For example:
Troy 07
Total O: 16
Passing eff: 78
MTSU 09
Total O: 30
Passing Eff: 77
LTU 10
Total O: 52
Passing Eff: 89
LTU 11
Total O: 49
Passing Eff: 69
He seems to run a balanced offense (that is equal run and pass) and teaches his system to several high school players and coaches at his
seminars so he is what Rhoads would refer to as a "teacher" and can develop players. Also his seminars give him a recruiting angle since a lot of HS coaches know about him.
