I wonder what Pollard and Geoffrey are arguing for?

10 teams to maximize revenue (assuming there isn't a money fall off with only replacing Mizzou with one)

or

12 teams (assuming this means 8 game conference schedule)

Thing of it is, if we are "weaning" teams into full revenue sharing (TCU only gets 50% next year), how much are we really losing going straight to 12?? We can set it up that they aren't full financial partners until the Tier 1 gets renegotiated and that will minimize the impact to the 9 remaining teams. Whatever gap there is can probably be made up by sharing the A&M + Mizzou exit fees.

And its not like they'd be losing much money either probably. A partial b12 deal compared to a full big east deal is probably not much loss, if anything.

Doesn't matter, according to Pollard most of the conference wants 10 teams so that is what we will be stuck with. I think this is horrible for ISU, KSU, KU, TCU, Baylor and Tech. I assume they are all thinking about money, how they are currently playing (not historical I am talking to you KSU, Okie St, KU & Baylor) and that the Big 12 will be perfect going forward. As things stand now, ISU will more than likely be a doormat until some of these powers have coaches retire or ISU gets a few breaks to go their way.

Essentially ISU needs to go 3-0 in non con every year going forward in order to sniff a bowl game.

Agreed. We need to schedule directional schools in our non-conference games and then pick off the weaker teams in the conference. Still will be a tall order for us.

Sources tell Orangebloods.com Notre Dame will decide in 60 days if it will move non-fball sports out of Big East (possibly to Big 12).

From a supposed insider at KU:

Sorry guys, didn't want to bring bad news, but WVU will more than likely get the first invite. Fox Sports and Texas have pushed hard for them. Also, they have been calling the Big XII presidents daily. The Big XII will make the final decision tomorrow, on #10 and if 2 more teams will be invited at the same time. I think if they could get things worked out with BYU, they will invite 3 teams. UC is not popular. Will pretty much know for sure tomorrow night. Heard from 2 people in the KU AD that WVU is in.

I don't understand why a lot of you wouldn't take WV as #10, Louisville as #11, and BYU for football for #12, ND for other sports for #12.

Why say no to that if it was an option? I'm trying to understand the thinking.

Disagree, they would be great for basketball.

You almost need another non FB playing school though now. How would that even work? We all want 12 for FB so let's assume we go there.

Now we have 13 for BBall with ND??

I don't like it. Plus if we have WVU + Louisville for BBall, I can live without ND.

If a team is going to join, I want it to be with every sport. Otherwise, having ND join without football does not add any stability.
