Utah. I think we beat them and keep chances at 6-6 alive!

We will win one game this year we aren't supposed to.
We will lose one game we should win. (UNI, NIU, CU, KSU, KU)

I am hoping the ISU trend of losing games we should win is over. One thing about 2009 was that I don't think ISU lost any games that they "should" have won. The only one that comes close is KSU who, at the time, had as many ? marks as we did. Kansas was ranked when they beat us and then went on their downward spiral afterwards. Were we favorites in any conference games last year, maybe CU? I think we were underdogs in every one of our losses.

Nebraska. Not going to make it, but was there last year (with my NU fan brother... see my new sig pic!). Would love to close out the series on top!

Plus, would love to deflate the Husker faithful. Was in Omaha last weekend, after several beers a Husker buddy of mine was convinced NU was ranked #1 in some pre-season poll. I can't believe how some of them just throw logic out the window. Some may say the same about ISU beating them, but I think ISU definitely has a better chance to beat NU than NU has at getting a NC.

The fact that Iowa is tied for third makes me happy that we don't put such an emphasis on beating Iowa anymore.

I am not amped for Iowa at all this year, not sure why. I'm sure I'll be more excited the week of, but Nebraska and Utah are the two games I'm most interested to see this year.

I'm the exact same way. This will actually be the first time in 10 years that I haven't gone to the ISU v. Iowa game. I'm just not interested in going at all this year.

Nebraska, of course. If we beat them this year it could very well be the biggest win of my life as an Iowa State football fan. Unless the Huskers completely collapse and come in with a bad record and us favored, I don't think there will ever be a regular season game that I will care about as much. Even then, it would be huge. The only thing that could ever top it would be us winning a championship or a BCS bowl.

I was bad enough watching at home during last year's game. If we win, I'll probably be so overwhelmed that I'll collapse after we rush the field. If it's close, I may not even survive to see the end of it.

They will not be bad heading into our game. Granted they are overrated, but Bo Peep is a good coach and will have them playing well. Still want us to win though!

Somebody should shoot this to Jon Miller, I think it's an interesting phenomenon showing a changing fan base. I'd be interested to see what him and Deace have to say about it. For me, game excitement goes in this order:

1. Nebraska: Last ever, high-ranked conf. opponent, prove it wasn't a fluke
2. Northern Illinois: First Game, enough said
3. Utah: Home game against a quality opponent that we don't play very often
4. K-State: Revenge Game that should be circled on the team's calendar
5. Iowa: I think the combination of @Kinnick and a really good Iowa team has me down on the game this year, but it's still a big rivalry game.
6. Colorado: Last year playing them too, think we'll win, and a small chance I might be going.
7. Kansas: Another one we should have had last year, I think we get it this time.
8. Mizzou: At home, good shot at win, fun day of taunting them about the Big Ten.
9. UNI: Revenge for that unforgivable loss and probably the first game I'll make in person.
10: Texas Tech: Should just be a good competitive game.
11: Texas: The slightly more likely, but still unlikely upset in my mind.
12: Oklahoma: I have no hope for this being anything but us getting our *** kicked.

A poll on CF doesn't represent a very large sample of our fanbase; the "we" you're referring to is a very small number.
Iowa is our biggest game for the large majority of ISU fans. Please. There will be many more Cyclones, all across the state and midwest, watching that game on TV than any other game on our schedule.
To see that CF posters put the NIU, Utah, and Neb games ahead of the Iowa game on any "excitement scale" tells me that they have written off beating the Hawks, and look more forward to games we can win.

Definitely some truth to that, but I think even if the hawks were not at a high point this year Nebraska would still be ahead given all the circumstances of that game.
