Hmmm, going from signing up for intramural softball to transferring in one week. I hope we sign two JC guards, 11 is really better than 10 players. She had the makings of a clutch shooter and heady floor leader, good luck Whitney!

Is this true for the mens basketball team, not just ours but all programs? I would sure say that it is even worse!

More so on the men's side, but lets just make everybody feel better and say Mac can't relate to players.

BF is not an easy coach to play for (especially if you are a PG). The transfers this year and last indicate maybe he needs to learn to tone that down.

Yeah he needs to change things up. Its definitely not working.:jimlad:

I don't think Bill needs to change a thing.

Maybe, maybe not. Going forward, if BF keeps the large majority of his freshman recruits until they graduate as seniors, then maybe he doesn't need to change anything. However, if there starts to be significant attrition of the higher regarded recruits due to transfer, then he needs to review his approach.

Up until last year, there didn't seem to be too much of a problem with transfers on the WBB side. Just something to keep an eye on...

Bill only likes 7-8 person rotations so he probably fine with 10. People to to lay off those commenting some what negative things about BF. Every ISU fan knows what he has done for ISU and his record as a coach. It's nice to know that we have a coach whose never wrong.

Yes, and on these boards we have coaches who are never right. It just gets old.

I'm done here.

I hope BF coaches at ISU until he's ready to retire. He's an excellent strategist and game-day coach. He's gotten more out of less than anyone in the country. He's friendly to fans and seems genuinely grateful about his situation, and he's an excellent representative for ISU.

I don't understand how one criticism becomes "coaches who are never right".

Fennelly wins. McDermott does not. End of comparison.

Losing games due to injuries or fouls is certainly something coaches want to avoid. BF generally seems to like to have 9-10 play most of the season, and then tighten down to 7-8 in the tournaments. Quite a few teams have lost more than one player to injury, I don't know if people remember when we lost all but one of our post players. Not good if it happens to our guards, either.

Not sure what's worse...Whitney transferring or KG's desperate attempt to use this to defend Greg McDermott.

I liked Whitney a lot. I don't think she's talented enough to be your starting PG at a high level but she would be an excellent role player or someone who could share the PG duties. I figured since she does that's Weekly Word segment on Cyclones.com she was happy. I thought she'd be the last to transfer.

Oh well, in Bill I trust.

I think the NCAA needs to do something to make it a lot less desirable for these athletes to transfer. I'm not sure what should be done, but it just seems to be too commonplace now. There seems to be no commitment any more at all.

I don't know that he's defending McD, but instead mocking others who've said transferring is a unique epidemic to our men's program.

KG, I really believe you may be the only person left that cannot see that Mac can not relate to players. I believe your heart is in the right place but man you are loyal to a fault.

I could pretty much say anything, and you could find a way to turn this into a desperate attempt.:biglaugh:

Fact of the matter: Just the truth.
