The only place I would leave the Big XII for is the Big X. The revenue sharing would be WAY better, we'd be playing in an easier conference, and we would have our own network.

I also wouldn't consider leaving the Big XII for the Big # "giving up." Then again, I doubt it would ever happen, as the Big # would first have to get serious about adding the 12th member and then Notre Dame, Missouri, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Syracuse would all have to turn down the offer to join first.

Because of this one game? You apparently are one of the ISU fans that makes this game your Superbowl...which explains why you're taking it so hard.

It isn't time for ISU to leave the Big 12...but it is time for you to leave the fanbase.

I remember us competing for Big 12 north division titles a few years back.....

Five years ago you were competing. You have gone through three coaches since then. It takes time to get a system in place. Going to the MAC/CUSA/WAC/Sunbelt isn't going to change anything. You need to have a system in place to compete. Dropping conferences would just mean the quality of your recruits would go lower. It took Mac a few years to put a winning team out on the field, it's going to take time for CPR to do it too. So stop whining.

jeeeeeze, melt down much?

ISU will figure this out, and we belong in the Big XII. Give the new staff a chance. Heck, it (a chance) is exactly what we (ISU) were begging for after cheese **** left for Auburn. Someone to take a risk and come coach ISU. I'd give them 2 YEARS not 2 games to prove themselves.

Leaving the Big 12 would be a huge mistake for ISU

Let's see: We were a couple of field goals away from back to back Big 12 North Championships a few years ago.

Men's basketball: Back to back Big 12 titles in this decade
Women's basketball: Coming off an Elite 8 appearance
Volleyball: #11 in the nation
Soccer: Currently off to the best start in school history
Wrestling: One of the best teams in the nation

I think we are doing just fine in the Big 12.

Enough proof that we are where we belong!

I'm sure the Big Ten has been very serious about courting Notre Dame, as they would bring even more $$$ to the conference.
Aside from them, don't hold your breath. They will only add a team that will add to their overall revenue, not take some away.

let's be honest. We are never going to compete in this league, nor would we be a player in the Big 10. I think the MAC is made for us.

I would ignore this, but not saying something constitutes agreement. Therefore; are you kidding? We have made leaps and bounds in facilities, coaches pay and fund raising in the last five years. I hope you arent jumping off the wagon already.

We have had 2 winning conference seasons in football in the past 30 years. That can't be blamed on just bad coaching, we have a lot of obstacles here for football.

In just about every other sport we have shown that we can compete for winning seasons and occasional championships.

I didn't read this entire thread, nor do I want to. But, I just wanted to say something. This thread is stupid. It would be stupid for us to leave the Big 12 for a "lesser" conference. STUPID. It will never happen.

We have, we can, and we will compete in this league. The right coach can make it happen, and I think PR is the guy.

Ames! For LYFE!
I wonder if we could just leave for football and still be in the conference for the other, non revenue generating sports.
WWOOWWW...you can't just pick and choose which conference you want to be in for each sport. That is ridiculous!! If every school chose their football conference and their "other sport" conference, it would just demean all athletic programs. Once again...wow.

I don't always agree with Hawk fans, but I do this time. You are spot on.

Just an FYI while they probably wouldn't let just anybody get away with it Notre Dame is a member of the Big East in Basketball but independant in football. Of course Notre Dame sucks giant sack too...
