let's be honest. We are never going to compete in this league, nor would we be a player in the Big 10. I think the MAC is made for us.

Because of this one game? You apparently are one of the ISU fans that makes this game your Superbowl...which explains why you're taking it so hard.

It isn't time for ISU to leave the Big 12...but it is time for you to leave the fanbase.

If I were a mod I'd just kill this right now.

Maybe if I personally attack the OP (who is obviously a troll) I can get it shut down.

Five years ago you were competing. You have gone through three coaches since then. It takes time to get a system in place. Going to the MAC/CUSA/WAC/Sunbelt isn't going to change anything. You need to have a system in place to compete. Dropping conferences would just mean the quality of your recruits would go lower. It took Mac a few years to put a winning team out on the field, it's going to take time for CPR to do it too. So stop whining.

maybe isu, ksu, colorado and baylor can form their own big 4 conference?
Never mind.

Perhaps the OP is also one of those who believes Saturday's game was decided after the failed onsides kick.

Yep, great knee-jerk reaction.

jeeeeeze, melt down much?

ISU will figure this out, and we belong in the Big XII. Give the new staff a chance. Heck, it (a chance) is exactly what we (ISU) were begging for after cheese **** left for Auburn. Someone to take a risk and come coach ISU. I'd give them 2 YEARS not 2 games to prove themselves.

Worst idea ever. I can't believe this gets talked about at all, let alone as often as it does.

the cards are stacked against us. Small recruiting base, a budget dwarfed by the other schools. Im not demeaning any coach or AD weve had, just being a realist.

Let's see: We were a couple of field goals away from back to back Big 12 North Championships a few years ago.

Men's basketball: Back to back Big 12 titles in this decade
Women's basketball: Coming off an Elite 8 appearance
Volleyball: #11 in the nation
Soccer: Currently off to the best start in school history
Wrestling: One of the best teams in the nation

I think we are doing just fine in the Big 12.

You think our base is small now, wait until we leave the Big 12. Our recruiting will suck worse than it does now, our budget will fall through the floor, and our athletics department would turn into a complete mess.

Big picture, we belong in a lot of sports in the Big 12. Football we aren't there right now, and basketball we're up and down.

I wonder if we could just leave for football and still be in the conference for the other, non revenue generating sports.
We can't even get CLOSE to making enough money to not sink the athletics department. Nice try though.

What do you mean we aren't ever going to compete? We will never be dominant like UT or OU because the Big XII has the deck stacked against us, but it doesn't mean we can't be competitive. We've already proved that we can -- we competed just fine under our previous two AD's.
