I am moving in 3 weeks from East Ankeny to West Ankeny. I don't have too much stuff and assumed it will take 2 hours.

Here is where the numbers break out for four places I've checked.

Smoldt Moving and Storage- $360 (and they did awesome last time, but wont go less than 4 hour min.)

Two men and a Truck ($334) (heard great things, but a bit more expensive).

A-1 Movers ($290)

Hawkeye Movers ($258)

Anyone had experiences with these places?

Thanks in advance.

Just asking if anyone has used these companies. I'm not opposed to good service even if they're hawk fans.

Nix on Hawkeye Movers. Do not go there.

I used Two Men and a Truck and they were great.

Have you checked into a piano mover, then doing the rest yourself? I don't know how much that would be, but judging by the distance, I'd think it would be cheaper.

If it's on wheels, he could tow it or push it. It's just across town, right?

Why is everyone talking you out of hiring a mover? We need to keep this economy moving. While you're at it, mow your own lawn, make your own clothes, grow your own food, cook your own meals, ride a donkey to work and disconnect your internet. You can just send us messages in a bottle.

It's surprisingly not that much less.......so why not pay and have it all done for me?

If he doesn't hire a mover, he's got more money for booze and hookers.
