If he doesn't hire a mover, he's got more money for booze and hookers.

Yeah, then he get stimulated.

Sorry, OP. I have no real advice as I have never used a moving company. I don't have a bunch of stuff, though. Although, I have heard nothing but good things about Two Men and a Truck.

The only thing I don't like about two men and a truck is that they are charging me 100 dollar piano fee as WELL as the 3 person rate because they have to move the piano. I feel like I'm being charged twice for the piano.

So, it's going to be north of $400 with the piano charge?

The 360 was assuming they could do it in two hours. But they include driving to and from Urbandale to Ankeny.

Because I have a rediculously heavy piano.

I'm sorry you don't have nearby friends to help you with that. My husband's helped move three piano's in Ames....one of which had to go upstairs...

You can ask him to help if you want:wink:

We've only used U-haul and had lots of friends help. It goes much faster (usually) For us it was the cheaper way to go.

Seems a bit high to me. I guess I wouldn't think it would be that expensive to move from one side of Ankeny to the other. I would look at other options.

On the road...
I would suggest Griffin Transfer. I know the owner and he is a super nice guy and has a great staff and price.

Maybe you could do a U-Haul for everything but the piano...the piano itself wouldn't take more than an hour.

I think we'd be free to help...need to double check the calendar.
