holy effing hell :swoon:

I give about a 30% chance when I wake up tomorrow my arms are not attached.

How are the arms today? Is another part sore?

My wife and I are in the 2nd week of phase 3 and we're both walking around talking about what hurts. Ribs, chest and tricepts....all from the Monday workout. My butt's still sore for legs and back on Friday. Ugh.

I just got done with Back and biceps in phase 2. Corn cob pull=ups are ridiculous. I was happy with my improvement doing pull ups, but I could only do one of those things.

I'm pretty sure that he made those up just to show off. I could do that too, if I was a little man and not carrying 250 lbs on my 6'5" frame (all muscle, though).:skeptical:

That's the workout we will do Wed. morning. Those corn cobs are tough and the towel ones aren't much easier. I can only get about 3 of each on a good day. At the end they say max rep pull-ups any type....my wife always trys to do the corn cobs. She went from 0 the first week to 3 the last week. I struggle to just get some good wide fronts done.

Are ya happy with your progress so far? I know I'm pretty happy. Nothing mind blowing but I'm getting leaner and I know I'm in far better shape than I was at this time last year. I don't know about being in the best shape of my life but better than it has been for a long time. I haven't missed a workout yet and I think that's the thing I like most. I'm in a pretty good routine and that's really the main thing for me.

I am not satisfied with my results yet but i still cant use my pull up bar, often miss a day or two a week, and cant follow the diet very closely. I am hoping that when I live with my mom who is on foodstamps, I wont have much to eat and much unhealthy stuff to eat, plus ill have nothing better to do than fish and workout.

Another thing that I have found is that p90x is not enough by itself for me. I usually feel like I should do at least two workouts a day with it because it gives me a bunch more energy. I was doing cardio as my warmup (a decent mile+ jog) and then doing my workout, but after my first round of legs and back I couldnt do it anymore because I could barely walk and it is hard for me to swing that kind of time (without sleeping less).

So when I get home I plan on doing cardio+p90x, getting in the wrestling room 2x a week and beating up on some of the big guys, and maybe lifting a couple other days a week. Turning on straight beast mode, basically. Hopefully I can swing all of that though. My cousin who is in way greater muscular shape (he is just doing it to get cut up) says hes pretty much drained after each workout so well see.

Yeah, doing all the workouts is what is important. If you don't feel like you are getting enough you should be doing the doubles routine. I actually did my workout a bit earlier and am now sitting in my recliner watching my fiance doing the core routine, which is nice. :)

I echo what snowcraig2.0 said and add that eating the right things and getting enough is key to getting rid of the fat. I'm not talking tofu and alfalfa sprouts, I'm talking good proteins and good carbs. You have to have the right balance of carbs and proteins to lose the fat. Right now I'm on a 40%cab, 40% protein, and 20% fat portion. If you eat to little or out of balance your body doesn't burn the fat efficiently, it actually stores what you eat as fat because it thinks it's not getting enough to eat. The other think I learned is what carbs do for you. They are energy but can be easily converted to sugar and fat if not burnt off. This is one of the keys to this program helping you learn how to eat so it optimizes the bodies ability to burn fat efficiently and build muscle.

Right now Im getting well over 2000 calories a day between 5-6 meals (3 meals and 2 snacks). That's far more than I ever used to eat and my body is leaning out as good as it has for 10-15 years. I'm not stuffed at the end of a meal because I focus on eating the proper portions based on the nutrition program. Oh, and I also cut out all pop and candy which is something that makes a big difference. Surprisingly I don't miss it one bit except for the convince.

Hopefully when you get with your mom you can get into a good routine and get what you want out of the program. As well, incorporate your other workouts along with it. Just remember, the more workouts you do the more food you'll need to eat to see the results. The right food is the proper fuel for the body. It will help maximize your workouts and optimize the fat burning and lean muscle growth.

chest still is hurting from the first day. triceps took another beating. but the rest of the week was a lot easier. The cardio portions seem kinda weak.

I don't have a chinup bar so I'm sure I'm missing out on some good work there, I need to get one of those this week.

My girlfriend and I have really been researching and considering this program for the past couple weeks and this board discussion has really put me over the top in deciding to do it. Kudos to all of you for your great input on the program.

Neither one of us has really found a bad review of the program and it really appears to work. Just doesn't seem as gimmicky as your average get ripped quick scam.

Neither one of us is really looking to get crazy jacked, just simply to get into decent shape. This definitely looks like it will make you work enough to get into decent shape regardless of the rest of your lifestyle, although we do try to eat well but i dont see myself giving up ALL the bad stuff. As far as the investment goes this does seem pretty reasonable. Like others have said just as much as a gym membership would be for 3/4 months. I by no means make much money but I'm in for this.

I am excited to get started!

The program in general is a good program but you must remember to follow good nutrition as well. Above it was discussed about excess carbs being stored as fat which is correct, however anything in excess can be stored as fat-even protein. Carbs are stored as glycogen in the liver which provides energy for the workout so it is important to eat enough otherwise you will bonk!! Be careful with excess protein because too much in the diet can cause liver and kidney problems. Good luck!!

I recommend dropping the cardio and doing the Plyometrics. Trust me, you won't think that is weak.

Agree Plyometrics kicks my *** every time! I liked cardio at first b/c it got me going.

I hate yoga but I have noticed that I am a lot more flexible in a short period of time

Good comments cysmall, thanks. A few questions for you......

- You sound like you know what you're talking about, what's your background?

- Have you looked and the P90X nutrition guide? If so what are your thoughts and do you agree with the the recommended diet over the 3 phases?

- How much is too much protein? 40%, 60%, 70% of diet?

- Is there a timeframe for being at a percentage of protein for one to worry about?

i am by no means an expert but have done alot of research and have taken some sports nutrition classes. I think the nutrition guide is good as long as you progress to the next stages. It kind of follows the same formula as the Atkins diet that alot of people were on in the past. As far as what is too much protein there is alot of debate but usually the number is greater than 200mg per day.

Thanks for the input cysmall. I average around 160g of carbs a day and 180g of protein. For me this works well. I've never bonked but do have days that I feel better than others but I haven't been able to say that's because of the carb intake. I don't know, maybe it's kinds of carbs I'm getting.

By the way, have you done the program and followed the nutrition guide? If so what were your results?

week two starting off a little better. still felt like throwing up after the pushup/chinup workout, but not quite as sore today.

did cardio instead of plyo last week. heard the plyo can be quite a *****, guess I'll find out tonight.
