WRESTLING: Iowa State lands state champion

Head coach Kevin Dresser and his staff have landed state champion, Logan Schumacher from Martensdale St. Mary’s.

Schumacher announced his commit via his Twitter.

Schumacher ended his high school career 204-7 and placed four times at the state tournament. He was also nominated for the Iowa’s Dan Gable Wrestler of the Year this season and was a 2016 Fargo All-American.

Per IAWrestle, Schumacher credited the atmosphere and the helpful staff in making his final decision.

Schumacher will be among an impressive class that includes Joel Shapiro, Grant Stotts and out of state commit David Carr.
