When it was announced last Sunday that Iowa State would be playing in the Liberty Bowl vs. Memphis (in a true road game), I told disgruntled fans that this could be a very fun thing.
I get it. True road games in the postseason are not ideal.
You know what also isn’t idea? Playing in – or even watching a game – in an awful atmosphere.
The 2017 Liberty Bowl should be a top five atmosphere in the entire bowl season. Memphis fans are jacked up about their program and a new contract for head coach Mike Norvell.
I can honestly write today that I have never seen Iowa State fans more excited about the coming years.
On Dec. 30 in Memphis, that stadium is going to be absolutely rocking. According to Jamie Pollard, it is also sold out!
Hopefully Cyclone fans who were not able to purchase tickets through our allotment will be able to access to tickets through other sources. We are expecting there will be at least 25,000 Cyclone fans in the stadium like there was in 2012. pic.twitter.com/mnbHNoqoAj

If you don’t have tickets yet, don’t panic. Third-party vendors will have some and I am sure scalpers will be around too. So you should still make the trip!
Memphis is a 3-point favorite so the experts really have no clue who will win this game. The only sure thing is how much fun it will be. See you at Graceland!
For what it’s worth, the two highest-attended bowl games in ISU history were both @AZOLibertyBowl appearances. That fact probably isn’t lost on their committee. pic.twitter.com/4CsD6AHUfu
