I’m pretty sure he’s said he dropped it or handed it to someone and maybe doesn’t know where it’s at.
That was going to be what i would say i'd love to have given how it was such a monumental win, how it happened, etc. I've always just pictured in pure excitement him dropping it and some lucky person putting it under their coat, lol.

I was at that game too as a student. To this day I still don't think I have ever heard Hilton as loud as it was right after he dunked that and I have attended a pretty high % of MBB games in Hilton since 1998 as I have had season tickets every year as a student and post graduation. This was the first thing that came to my mind that I would like something either Fizer's jersey or the game ball from that game.

The younger generation (man that makes me feel old saying that at age 45) have no idea just how special that team was that year. We didn't have social media or our games on TV that often and when they were it was usually a local or regional broadcast so most of the country had no idea just how good of a team we had. Coming into that game 22-4 and 10-2 in the Big 12 ranked 17 playing 14 ranked Texas with Mihm who at the time many thought may be the #1 overall pick in the NBA draft. That game and the next one that we beat #10 ranked OSU with Eduardo Najera jumped us from 17 to 10 in the rankings and we didn't lose another game again until the Elite 8. I wonder just how high we may have been ranked sooner had we had the TV and media coverage that we have today. Really anything from that season in general would be the highlight of anything I could own.
That game and the Ok (Ok State?) game back when Fred was playing were the loudest I've heard Hilton.

I remember Mihm was the talk of the town - couldn't be stopped, #1 draft pic, yadda yadda yadda. Fizer came into that game with a mission and owned Mihm like my dog on a rag doll! I had forgotten about Najera, who was great in his own way. Then the trash that was the "double-foul" in the E8?! That one call decided the National Championship that night. MState cake-walked to the finals, which we would have done also. Good times! (And to this day, my MIL still can't understand why I refuse to root for the Spartans. She has some friend connections to the school - whatever!)

Part of the old Hilton BB floor with either some sort of logo or Johny's signature(if it even exists).

That came to mind for me, too, not long after I saw the thread.

Side note, I had a personal "Mandella Effect" with that. I could've sworn Marchie planted an ISU flag, not the state flag.
Edwards planted the flag at OU. Here's my UNLV story:

Shopping at Venetian. Girl at some purse store goes, you all travel thick. My brother used to play at ISU.
I asked who it was. She said her brother is Everett Edwards "the flag guy."

In case you forgot:

So I had TWO Mandella Effect elements. Why did I think it was Marchie?! (Perhaps because he had a couple of big receptions during the game)

I'm going to have to revise my initial post to reflect that info.
Marchie. Love thay guy. Used to climb the ladder and direct the band

As drunk as I was at that Okie St game, I believe with all my heart he caught that ball.
He would have been a great 4 year player here. I loved his big smile.
