So I kind of struggle between “best voices” and “favorite voices”. Best voices would always have to include Freddy Mercury, Whitney Houston, Chris Cornell, Cyndi Lauper, Steve Perry, Peter Centura, Adele, Bono, Sting. Favorite voices is much more subjective. I’d include Tracy Chapman, Delores from the Cranberries, Eddie Vedder, Chris Cornell, Chris Isaak, Alison Kraus, Natalie Merchant, Stevie Nicks.

Vince Neil... Just kidding! He's one of the worst singers (if you want to call him a singer) of all time.

Lot of great suggestions here. Myles Kennedy sticks out as someone who makes it seem effortless.

Personally I have always loved Kevin Griffin from Better Than Ezra. There is a level of emotion and connection in his delivery that being a singer/songwriter adds that is lacking when people are singing someone else's music.

In terms of range I remember being surprised that Mike Patton from Faith No More was credited with having the largest vocal in pop music. He was always fun, but I never felt he showed a ton of that range.

Better than Ezra is extremely underrated. In the right mood, that band scratches me right where I itch. Especially in the summertime.

And then I thought of The Band, and then I thought of Danko.
