I am sure most of the Cyclone Fanatics are racking brains with picks as they fill out their brackets.

But who is your biggest upset of the 2nd round of the tournament?

Last year, it was Norfolk State that upset Missouri that destroyed most of our brackets. Surely there will be a monumental upset again this year right?

My biggest upset? 15th seed Florida Gulf Coast shocking the nation by knocking off 2nd seed Georgetown.

What is your huge upset?

So you are referring to the Round of 64?

I like Minnesota over UCLA and Bucknell over Butler. Those are both 11-6 upsets. I'll probably pick one 12 over a 5, although none of them look favorable right now. Can't pick against VCU or Wisconsin's coaching, Oklahoma State is just too talented... maybe I will end up going with #12 Cal over #5 UNLV.

Can't remember who but someone on CBS was adamant about #13 Montana beating #4 Syracuse. Repeated it multiple times.

If I were a bolder man, I would pick #15 Florida Gulf Coast over #2 Georgetown, but I don't think I'll touch that one this year.

Yeah. Pay no mind to the play-in (1st Round) games. Really they are just preliminary and are even seeded..
I've got Syracuse going to the Final 4.

I also have Davidson defeating Marquette in that 3-14 matchup..

Go big or go home.

Go hilltoppers.

(and what's the real damage to your bracket by picking this? KU will drop out fairly shortly after that anyways, so youre not likely killing long-lasting team by predicting this absurd upset)

Same as OP - FGCU over the Hoyas.

Then, ISU over Gonzaga.

On paper, the ISU/ND game is an upset, so that's my first and most likely candidate...but a 10 over a 7 isn't that crazy.

If by Second Round, you mean the old First Round, which I call Round of 64:

16 vs. 1:None of the 16's will beat a 1 at least for another year. This is the most fluid 1-seed season in recent memory, but it's a completely watered-down 16 pool. If WKU had matched w/ Gonzaga, I could've seen a fluke stunner.

15 vs 2: If anyone wants to get crazy, take Pacific over Miami. If you think Hurricanes will fall before Sweet 16 and you reeeeally want to choose a 15, go ahead and pick this. (Second choice: Florida Gulf Coast over Georgetown).

14 vs 3: None of these are out of the question, I doubt any of them happen in this bracket setup, but in order of likelihood: Harvard over New Mexico; Northwestern State over Florida; Davidson over Marquette; Valpo over MSU.

13 vs 4: New Mexico State over St. Louis or Boise/La Salle over KSU. Other two 4's are the "could make Final Four or die early" and I think either SD State or Montana could cause some anxiety v. U-M, 'Cuse, but I think it'll go chalk.

12 vs 5: Akron over VCU would cause the most "wow!" mainly because VCU recently went to Final Four as a play-in 11, but it's meh. Oregon over Oklahoma State is practically a given, for geographic and under-seeded reasons. But that's a big upset by seed only. For people who look for the 5-12 upset, this year's bracket provides the most boring 5-12 upset situation in the history of mankind.

Really don't agree with this, Oregon did get disrespected but Oklahoma State is crazy talented. I feel like Marcus Smart is about to show up big time in the tournament.

I absolutely hate the PAC12 but, they absolutely got shafted by the committee! Oregon and Mississippi 12 seeds? Are you serious???

I don't pick many big upsets in the second round. It's always fun when you're right but most of the time you are just losing points by picking the wrong upset.

Mississippi isn't in the Pac 12 and they aren't a good team at all anyways. Won a very bad conference tournament and had a very easy schedule with bad losses.

It's a risk if the team you bounce goes on an extended run, but it's more fun than playing it safe.

Another thing people tend to do: Going for home runs in the early round and then picking almost all favorites the rest of the way. Distribute a few other upsets in Round of 32 and Sweet 16.

My biggest is Ole Miss over Wisconsin. Wisconsin basketball has put me to sleep multiple times this season, and I think Ole Miss is coming into this game with a huge chip on their shoulder with everyone talking about how they don't belong here. It seems like the perfect recipe to me.
