I honestly don't get the stitch is about wearing an alternate jersey once a year, especially if the players like them. Don't like the jersey? Fine - nobody's telling you that you have to buy one for your closet. But if our players get really stoked over it, then the fans that don't like them can afford to assail their eyes for one game.

For the most part the appeal of the jerseys are not for the fans (at least not 100%) it will be for recruits who are teenagers and like to have a variety of uniforms. As long as future and current players like them, then we should go with it. Plus I thought the gold jerseys were legit and a good change.

I don't think anyone on here is telling the players what to wear or not wear. I think the aggrevation comes from us discussing the uniforms or helmets ad nauseum on this site. If there were really any news about an alternate uniform or helmet, it probably wouldnt get the backlash.

I don't have a problem with alternate uniforms, I just think if they are going to do it, we should try and have an alternate uniform that doesn't look as ****** as those yellow ones did.

Your opinion would only be correct if we had white helmets to go with the white pants:

But as it stands

But upon further review. The white pants are more photogenic, but the cardinal pants are better looking on TV.

Completely disagree. White on White is by far the best.

Please, dear God, no yellow jerseys, unless they are paired with white pants. And even then, I'm not sure. What I do know is that they would look gawdawful with yellow or cardinal pants.

Option 1

Option 2 with so-far non-existent white helmet:

I may step back a little from my support of all-gold, from some good points brought forth in this thread.

But I'm not sure what would make the gold jersey look best in the overall package. (I don't like that cardinal-gold-white, but current realistic options would make that a possibility, and it's certainly unique).

All gold probably works better than the cardinal-gold-cardinal we've seen on the field — although I still think if ISU had won that game to get bowl-eligible, that alt-uniform's popularity would have soared...

I know people love the alternate jerseys, and I'm not trying to rain on that parade, but yellow/gold just does not work as dominant jersey color. It looks awful. I'm all for stuff like the Trice jerseys that are actually different and cool, but I wish we'd just stick with our attractive standard color schemes if all we're going to do is swap out colors and make stuff like those cheap looking all-gold monstrosities.

This is the pic I was after earlier this year in another thread on alternate jerseys. Think the white would be great, but the helmet would be best in a light grey or silver than all white. Don't know then if they jersey would need the same accents somewhere to tie in, but just my thoughts.

As to the Gold/Yellow - I'm all for it, but if is difficult coming up with a gold/yellow most would approve of.
If a majority of the players would sign off on it, then I'm game. They are the ones wearing it, let them decide. I'll support their decision no matter what.
