Update for XII men's basketball tournament tickets.

The demand for tickets from Cyclone fans (7,300 all-session tournament tickets were ordered by our fan base) far exceeded the number of all-session tickets (4,131 tickets) we were able to secure from the Big 12 Conference office and the other Big 12 member institutions. Last year we were able to secure over 5,000 all-session tickets. Unfortunately this year we simply were not able to purchase as many additional tickets from our peer institutions.

We prepared the following chart, in an effort to be as transparent as possible to our fan base, summarizing how we are allocating the 4,131 tickets

Directors Level ($12,500) 1,509 tickets
Victory Level ($5,000) 1,553 tickets
Captains Level ($2,500) 779 tickets
Gold Level ($1,000) 190 tickets
Coaches & Administrative Staff 100 tickets

75% of tickets sold going to people who mainly sit most of the game....ugh
There is nothing wrong with that in this venue. ISU isn't even going to be there. Why would you be on your feet for Gonzaga vs UNC or something...

Yep, we have been going for at least the last 10 years and we did not get tickets this year. I do understand that you have to grease the big donors, but it could be a slippery slope if you burn perhaps some of the most loyal and fanatic fans. Frustrating to say the least.

Why is it a slippery slope? Tickets have always been allocated on donation level and points. It is the individual choice of any donor to decide at what level to donate at.

Big money talks this year which is what happens when the program is doing well. Most tickets went to donors at levels above $5000.

I think if you purchase two season ticket you should have the opportunity to purchase 2 tournament tickets, if you purchase 12 season tickets, you should have the opportunity to purchase 12 tournament tickets.

I know people who have not donated one dollar to the Cyclone Club who are piggy backing on big donor ticket allotment. That is the slippery slope. Non donating people who jump on the bandwagon are getting tickets at the expense of people who donate year after year.

I will agree with you that having season tickets should factor into the priority process, but if ISU has a donation level system, it needs to be followed. If donors choose to allocate their tickets to friends and family that is their decision.
Why is this unfair.

I'm all about the point system. I have no problem with that, that is fair, but when there is this high of demand for tickets ISU should not be over allocating beyond the number of season tickets they purchase.

I agree with everything CyAg has said here...

Also if you cannot donate the money that will get you tournament tickets you should be able to get into all ISU games for around 100 per game. That's less than you would pay if you purchased all session tickets. I still don't get why people complain about tickets/prices. Having a winning program isn't free.

To the guy that said the fans sit most of the games has never been to a big 12 tournament game... That's not the case.
