Recruiting will be a little easier after next year's national championship.

Howland at first suspended Nelson for violation of team rules and insubordination. Then he missed a flight for a game I believe, and that was the straw that broke the camels back. Was there other issues? I'm confused as to that is "ignoring the problem". I know Nelson had filed a lawsuit for defamation of character, but to let go Howland for doing his job is ludicrous.

Supposedly it went on quite awhile before Howland did anything.

Howland pretty much waited way too long to do anything about Reeves, IIRC. He kind let Nelson run the show until the Athletic department told him to do something about it.

Good players can overcome bad coaching but bad players can't survive with just good coaching. Gotta have good players no matter what.

Don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure the UCLA AD and Howland had a fallen out. Much like the Bo Pelini/Nebraska situation...

The first time I skimmed this thread title I read "Xavier Simpson commits to Mississippi State" and I said "WHAT?!" out loud.
