What a transformation - both physically for this role, and when you think of his progression as an actor. Remember when he was a drunk, fighty pretty boy? And now he's this incredible, transformative, deep actor - and person, with what he's done to advocate for his special needs child. Dude is great in this role, and just overall.
He was always pretty talented IMO. This is another level though.

I do agree, he's always been talented - but he was often dismissed early in his career. He poked fun at the image in his Scrubs cameo, how he was a fighting Irish guy with something more there.

He does the impossible in this, you just forget it's him unless you pull yourself out of it to remember.

I hope Farrell wins the Emmy for this work. Truly amazing.

But poor V-V-V-Victor. WHY?
Also if he doesn’t win all the awards something’s wrong. I’d also put money on Sophia and Victor and his mom getting lots of awards talk for their roles. Just amazing acting across the board.

wtf. I just read showrunners never really thought of this season as anything but a one season mini series. Penguin will still have an arc in the next Batman movie but there is no green light for a season two. I hope that changes.

Well that’s disappointing. So they’re going to use miniseries to setup characters to use in their feature films? Do they not have any creative ideas rather than just copying what’s being done with Marvel?

I think they needed to make sure it was going to be a success before going all in on multiple seasons. Which I get. Maybe they’ll change their mind and it will get a second season.

I wonder if the final scene was added late based on the early reactions? Cause that’s what made it seem like there’s another season to come. The final Penguin scene alone would make me think it’ll lead to The Batman 2. But the scene in Arkham feels more like another season of the series.

Or….the Penguin will be in a movie where Catwomen and Sofia will be a separate spinoff series? Which I’m all for.

Don't know why I was thinking about it this morning, but I really liked the message to Victor from Oz when they were eating at the nice restaurant and Victor was nervous/apologetic about his stutter. Oz scolded and told him to "make them wait".

Not sure why, but that self-confidence message resonated with me. Have a great Friday!

I think he truly cared for Victor, which is why things ended up the way they did between the two. "Caring" isn't something that Oz can do. It's a weakness.
