Would TJ drop everything and take the ISU job if it came open?

When can ISU fans have expectations again? It won't be next year because someone will leave and the staff will be caught with their pants down-again and people will make excuses- again for this demonstrated incompetence.

You cannot be at the bottom of the league in a P6 league two of the past three years and then lose to a good mid major- but still a mid major and have people be happy with that. If that is the ISU culture then that culture sucks.

It’s not even about losing to a mid major. That’s a swing that has been taking place for awhile now in CBB. SDSU is a good team I can recognize that. It’s more about how we’re playing than the results for me. There’s no innovation, there’s no bold moves being made in real time, there’s just a lot of blah in the way we play. Prohm seems to have a problem with either he has a great PG or he doesn’t, and that drives everything. TBF to him he lost one early in TH but he’s got another good TH coming in next year.

Losing two studs early to the draft is no different than multiple career ending injuries.

Its a momentum killer unless you're Kentucky plugging in new ones every year, and it needs to be multiple 5*s a year because some won't dominate on day one.

That said, Noah Friedel should not have come into Hilton and dominated like that even against a down ISU team.
You don't need to be Kentucky to beat a mid major at home. ISU fans are not asking to be a Final Four team each year, ISU fans simply do not wish to suck, which this program has in years 3-6. 49-51 record for the program during that time with a high point of going 9-9 in Big 12 play.

Close to home where his recruiting was amazing, and his wife is an alum?
Yes, he would.

I don't know much about TJ but is there a point where they're over it and look to other things?

So we are going to fire Prohm to go after a guy that is currently 0-5? I would hope we could do better.

I agree, it's a reason most teams would miss the dance if they can't plug in new all conference players but not a reason to get dominated like we did last night.

How is the outside shooting this bad?

1) we are not firing Steve- can't even if we wanted to. 2) I would love to do better but the next MBB coach at ISU is going to be grossly underpaid compared to market rate. 3) TJ- you need to dig deeper. Yeah- he is 0-5 but the work he is doing in the 0-5 start will prepare him for Marquette or ISU much more than going 5-0 at Murray State or SDSU would do. That is what happens when you take on a rebuild.

If anyone is calling for a coaching change... You really need a reality check because your expectations should not have been very high for 2020-2021
Is it too high of expectations to expect us not to frequently lose to ******* mid-majors at Hilton? Prohm should have been canned after last year. This is just more of the same trash basketball.

I don't understand how our 3pt shooting can be that bad vs a less athletic team playing at home.

It's as critical to today's game as rebounding.

Being mostly an NBA fan outside ISU it's almost unwatchable to view a team shoot 2-20 when even a 35% 3pt performance from the opponent nearly guarantees them the win.

Hoping it is still rust and early season anxiety.
Compared to years past under Prohm, we had guys in the gym A TON working on shooting and their game. Harris, JCL, Tre all put in the time and I hope they get rewarded for it

The fact that we shouldn't have high expectations is the reason we need a coaching change. Everyone knew this team would be rough.

It's the fact that it will be the 3rd team in the last 4 years to miss the Dance (and the one that went was a total flop based on their potential) that's got people wound up.

A year like this is fine 1/4 or 2/5 years, at best.

It’s also concerning in a time that TCU and OSU are starting to redevelop and TTU appears to be solidifying their place in the CBB hierarchy. We’re not above being the doormat in this conference for long stretches.

The other thing I worry about is if this year goes like we expect, is we start to see more transfers.

Yeah, this can happen very easily.

This is about where I’m at. I think SP is here through next year, so I’d like to see marked improvement this year with no major player defections. Then back in the tournament next year.

If we don’t see improvement and miss the dance in 22, it’ll be time.

Not true. Pollard wanted TJ. The president demanded someone with experience.

Our fans mock Webber but that's the kind of experience you hire if hiring for experience.

Prohm had shown an eye for talent and recruiting above his program's place more than he had a ton of coaching experience. It still seems to be the case.
